Since I don't care to dig for the old thread, I figured we could spark the debate once again here, with some fresh new ideas based on new information we have about the story

My prediction:

Avacyn will be a Black/White angel, with some sort of ability that exiles a Black or Red or whatever permanent or grants protection from those colors (yes, like Akroma except on steroids)

My reasoning:

Avacyn has been locked in the Helvault for some time now, and you can only imagine what she has been going through.  Like locking the warden in with the inmates, she likely has had to struggle to survive, and has had to take on some less-than-favorable tactics in order to stay alive (i.e. take on Black mana).  Her struggles with Griselbrand within the Helvault have changed her, and now she seeks to exact vengeance on all those who threaten the Humans of Innistrad.  Since we know the Helvault will be destroyed (it must be in order to release her), then Avacyn has no other way to control or contain the Demons she shared her prison with, so she must have a new way to expel them (exiling over destroying).

I'm thinking something like:

Avacyn, Hand of Retribution
5WB
Legendary Creature - Angel
Flying, Vigiliance
When ~ enters the battlefield or dies, exile target permanent
7/7

Avacyn Restored might feature a keyword much like Morbid, only for something being exiled rather than something going to the graveyard that turn.

Not really a card prediction per se, but meh I put it in this thread anyway.

I think this is possible.  With no more Transform and no DFC's, and with the storyline suggesting the Helvault is destroyed, what other way would Avacyn have to get rid of all the released demons?  Exiling seems to fit.  Perhaps a new combat damage mechanic similar to Wither, but more along the lines of:
"If a creature dealt damage by ~ would die this turn, exile it instead"

- Compressed that mechanic into a keyword.  Maybe something like Banishment

Yah, I could see that. Similar to Sword of Kaldra only more economical as far as text space goes.

I'm making a prediction:
A lich effect probably a card conversion of the portrait from Portrait of Dorian Grey. Seeing as this is a necromancy-tastical gothic horror block I'm a little suprised it wasn't in the first two sets. I'm predicting that they'll go into somewhat novel territory wwith the specifics though.

Just a thought and I don't see it happening but what about effects that trigger off of an empty graveyard?
It could open up some design space with cards that change power level between early and late games and it would definately go with the exile theme some people are supecting.

I think there's too much overlap with her use of the Helvault - if she didn't need to use the Helvault to exile demons, her being hoist by her own petard is less tragic and more slapstick.

If I was going to design a Banishment ability for Avacyn and other demonhunters, it would be bounce, not exile. It would help emphasise that banishment is only a temporary reprieve, not a get-out-of-trouble-free card, and show why the Helvault was necessary.

My prediction is still that Avacyn gets no personal card.

I like how she destroys herself upon entering the battlefield.

Anyway, my prediction is simple:

Ludevic as his own Legendary Creature.
