What do you guys think will be the next set after the Innistrad block is over?

What Plane are you hoping it will be?

It is going to be a new plane as Scars was a test by R&D to see how people reacted to returning to a new plane.

I would like to return to Ravnica, but I don't know if it would still hold its magic with the guilds gone.

If that's the conclusion they took from it, they lack imagination.

It couldn't be that people were reacting to returning to a plane whose story people disliked? Or reacting to them retconning the previous block's happy ending?

They work far enough in advance that whatever the next block is was in development before Scars came out. We won't see the result of this until the fall 2013 block at the earliest.

Is there any set pattern in which the Planes return? Like a cycle of sorts?

I would also like to see Kamigawa again.

Honestly, I think they should return to past settings very infrequently.  I'm thinking every third block at the most, because by the time New Phyrexia came out, I was ready for that block to be over.  Not to mentioin that Mirrodin was kind of an austere setting to begin with, and Phyrexia being the "big bad" is grossly overused and stale at this point.

Scars was a great block full of great cards, but the excitement of returning to a popular plane wasn't sustained through the entire block.  Not for me, anyway.

Having a consistant pattern isn't something Maro likes to do. He intentionally pushed Alara early to throw people off (people weren't expecting another multicolor block so soon).

That being said, it seems more likely that we won't have to wait ten years for the next Mirrodin block.

Valla.  I am sick of returning to old planes when so many new ones seem awesome.

I'd prefer to see a new plane, as well.  However, if it is going to be a return to a plane, my preference is on Rabiah or Dominaria.
