Warning you now: If you don't like random rants, don't read it. This is the random rant thread. you have been warned. It's even called the "Random Rant" thread. Others feeling aggrieved should choose this thread over any other to post their rants in, because now your rant will always be on-topic!
To those of you still reading: you are reading BY CHOICE. Let us ALL be absolutely clear about that. YOU CHOSE to click on the link saying "Random rants". Noone forced you to click on it. Noone is forcing you to read any further. And you are STILL READING.
So please don't try and hold anyone else responsible for any offence YOU might feel at reading THEIR opinions. Maybe they have been offended by somethign YOU did. What's your reaction then? apologise? maybe. They should just get over it? yep, more likely. If this is the case, then you too should just get over it. Don't be a whinger, be a ranter!
Anyway Here's my rant, for today.
Threads get closed because someone makes a complaint. So... Let's get this straight: If I make a complaint, put together some sort of half-assed reason why I even *might* possibly be offended by something, that is enough for mods to remove content and/or close a thread. And they don't have to give any reasons beyond "well, someone complained about it and one of the actions I can take in response is to close a thread, so I did." Heavens forbid that there should be any sort of accountability for authorities. Yes, this has been sparked off by the mods closing the "why don't we have..." thread. What, exactly was the problem with having a thread discussing the boards themselves and how they operate? If there is particular content posted within the thread that seems off topic, happy to have a discussion about removing it, but precisely what is offensive or off-limits about the topic of conversation per se? It really annoys me when things like this happen and absolutely no good reason is given. Well, bugger me. You know what? Im'a gonna complain about every thread. I don't like it! People shouldn't be allowed to post, at all, ever. Posting is clearly the source of every problem, ever. Don't post! posting is evil! Actually, if you think about it some more, the problem is keyboards. Giving people access to a keyboard is a definite no-no. Keyboards need to be banned. Ban the internet! let's censor everything! that way, no-one can POSSIBLY be offended. The only reason this thread or this post could be removed or closed is because the mods perceive it as an attack on their authority around here. That's not what this is about. It's about accountability and transparency, of which there is NONE. Mods don't need to account for their actions and we see NO transparency with regards to how the mods themselves are managed or disciplined if they make an incorrect call. Far be it that they ever make a mistake, because obviously every decision they make is 100% right and they are all perfect, infallible individuals!

Oh, and one other thing. If you are going to comment, please agree with whoevers' post you are commenting on. There's no need to disagree. If you disagree, post a rant of your own putting forward your own opinion.
If you are disagreeing and poking holes in other people's opinions, then, however illogical they may be, as Saruman might have said in Lord of the Rings: "You have elected the path of Flaaame!"
So just don't. Please. Pretty please. With ponies on top. Ranting - cool. Disagreeing with other people's rants? less cool.

This one time, we were eating grass out of this guy's yard, and he was like, "Hey quit eating grass outta my yard!" and we were like, "No".
Also, I cant help but think this thread may have been started due to a related thread about how we should have a "Anything goes" thread.

My sacrasm I dont think translated well in that last post. Anyways, what you are describing in your rant is exactly the United States Government. Only...the Wizards of the Coast government. Are they one in the same? Conspiracies!
