11 Elesh Norns? They'd all die. Seems counterproductive.
Mirror Gallery makes sure they don't die from Legend Rule.

Someone once played a bribery on me on turn three. His target.... Blightsteel Colossus Needless to say, that card was removed from my deck immediately after the game.

These stories are similar and I can completely understand why it happened. First story: I helped a fella build his deck based on cards he had. I gave him an Insidious Dreams as it can setup the best possible turns ever with his deck. So when he played it the first time, he discarded 4 cards, and the card he put on top of his library to play first? Vampiric Tutor , and yes he played it the next turn. We all had a bit of a laugh...Mind Twisting and shocking himself for 1 card. Second story: A guy at the shop built a Kaervek, the Merciless deck. Most of the time his deck sits back and builds small advantages until he drops Kaervek and waits for everyone to over-extend. But once in awhile he gets his lock down, where he plays Maralen of the Mornsong and then tutors up Stranglehold . It's very mean, but I'd say he only hits that combo one out of every 9 or 10 games. Anyway, he spends his first Maralen tutor getting Vampiric Tutor , essentially paying 5 life to put a card on top of his deck, that he'll never draw, but spend 3 more life for the following turn to tutor for. I think the moral of the story is, Wizards needs to print more tutors. Younger players have no clue how to play with this cards. They don't have to be in standard or modern...just get some FTV or something.

Unbelievable backfire moment, happened to one of my opponents: He's playing Teferi , another guy's playing Ghave , and I'm playing Sisay . Time goes on, we're all building our board presences, and the Teferi player hits a tutor. What does he tutor up? All together now, boys and girls: Knowledge Pool ! Both the Ghave player and I are groaning, figuring the game over at this point, unless I got lucky and hit a Krosan Grip (dunno if it was right or not, but one of the guys said it could be played and still get through the 'Teferi-lock'). It wasn't until three turns later that someone mentioned something interesting about Knowledge Pool...generals can still be played without getting caught in it. Ghave had enough board presence to go almost infinite P/T, wiping out Teferi in a few turns.

This is why I check what generals are at the table and remove Ulamog from my monoblack deck if there is a blue player in the midst.

Nope, split second does not stop triggered abilities. But you could cast Ulamog, destroy Teferi. Then play anther spell, get Ulamog back off the pool and use his ability to destroy the pool.

I don't get the Pool/Teferi "lock." Is the spell you "may" play from the Pool only at instant speed or something (as it's an ability, I guess?), therefore preventing you from playing anything without it getting exiled and then not getting a free spell from the Pool?

Crimson_Lancer: Yeah, pretty much. You play a spell, it gets exiled by Knowledge Pool , and gets put into a 'speed' where it can't be played thanks to Teferi's ability. So yeah...unless you play Ulamog or a similar spell, everyone except the Teferi player are locked out from playing anything but your commander or lands.

Ever go Infinite off anothers Infinite Combo? Recent game was My Kaervek against a Merieke and an Arcum deck. Arcum quickly got tucked by Merieke. Arcum then proceeded to spin Disk off the Academy Ruins . Next nutty combo was Arcum playing Myr turbine, and adding March of the Machines with a Intruder alarm in play (Making unlimited Myr tokens) My answer... Volcanic wind , Dealing unlimited damage to all his creatures. Turbine gets exiled. Next, Arcum tried to put out Lattice , and Merieke attempted to pull Deadeye navigator shennanigans (Stalled by Arcum, tapping out both players), to which (After nearly an hour of play) I Decreed the game to be over.
