This thread is for discussion of this week's Sealed Deck Builder, which goes live Thursday morning on magicthegathering.com. I'm proud to present a project that I've been working on for quite some time. It's a practice tool for building Sealed Decks from six booster packs, like you do at Prereleases. I hope you like using it, and I look forward to any feedback you might have about it. And of course, I look forward to seeing what decks you've built with this week's pool!

This Deck was built in 0:10:53Total Deck Size: 4118 Lands --------------- 9 Island 8 Swamp 1 Shimmering Grotto 11 Creatures --------------- 1 Black Cat 1 Diregraf Captain 1 Ghoulraiser 1 Highborn Ghoul 1 Rotting Fensnake 1 Screeching Skaab 1 Stitched Drake 1 Stormbound Geist 1 Vampire Interloper 1 Vengeful Vampire 1 Walking Corpse 11 Other Spells --------------- 1 Counterlash 1 Divination 1 Grasp of Phantoms 1 Increasing Confusion 1 Mask of Avacyn 1 Sensory Deprivation 1 Skeletal Grimace 1 Think Twice 1 Thought Scour 1 Trepanation Blade 1 Undying Evil The captains had me torn between U/B Zombies and R/B Vampires (2 Fires of Undeath was hard to pass up). What really pushed me into the Zombies was Increasing Confusion. It seems kind of game winning in limited.

This Deck was built in 0:21:06Total Deck Size: 4218 Lands --------------- 6 Forest 10 Mountain 1 Swamp 1 Shimmering Grotto 17 Creatures --------------- 1 Avacyn's Pilgrim 2 Briarpack Alpha 1 Crossway Vampire 1 Daybreak Ranger 1 Erdwal Ripper 1 Galvanic Juggernaut 1 Hinterland Hermit 1 Huntmaster of the Fells 1 Instigator Gang 2 Nearheath Stalker 1 Rage Thrower 1 Rakish Heir 1 Somberwald Spider 1 Stromkirk Captain 1 Ulvenwald Mystics 6 Other Spells --------------- 2 Fires of Undeath 1 Fling 1 Increasing Ambition 1 Spidery Grasp 1 Traveler's Amulet I like increasing ambition in this list because it lets you grab any of your bombs (huntsmaster, gang, a lord, etc) and does not muck up your mana too much. You get to play 6 non-captain vampires, which is enough I think to make the captain ok, even though he might be a 2/2 first strike some of the time. You do get to play double fires, though you only have three sources of black to flash it back. Fling is there because our guys get fairly large, and spidery grasp can save a guy from removal or help us block fliers. I'm not sure how good the nearheath stalkers are, but a 5/2 first strike who might become 6/3 was too good to pass up.

This Deck was built in 0:10:07Total Deck Size: 4117 Lands --------------- 8 Forest 2 Mountain 6 Plains 1 Shimmering Grotto 16 Creatures --------------- 1 Avacyn's Pilgrim 2 Avacynian Priest 2 Briarpack Alpha 1 Daybreak Ranger 1 Hollowhenge Spirit 1 Huntmaster of the Fells 1 Instigator Gang 1 Mausoleum Guard 1 Midnight Guard 1 Nearheath Stalker 1 Niblis of the Urn 1 Somberwald Dryad 1 Somberwald Spider 1 Ulvenwald Mystics 7 Other Spells --------------- 1 Burden of Guilt 1 Crushing Vines 1 Mask of Avacyn 1 Smite the Monstrous 1 Spidery Grasp 1 Traveler's Amulet 1 Trepanation Blade The basic gameplan here is to have beefy green creatures as the main color (+some surprise removal), then use white for evasion creatures and removal. I splashed red for the amazing, can't say no to creatures. Since we had both travellers amulet and shimmering grotto, I figured the splash was do-able.

I just am saying that this in NO WAY reflected the three sealed decks of my weekend, and I would have killed for a pool like this.
