Just think of the FTV set as one more routine reminder of how bad the reserved list is for players, collectors, vendors, and Magic in general. There are cool cards they might still include, but this line of products doesn't appeal to me (a) because it's reserve-neutered, and (b) because new-frame and foil are both downsides. The only uglier version possible would be white border.
Oh well, not everything can be for me, I suppose, since I enjoy basically every other product they put out.

almost 100% positive, that the art of the land depicted is Glacial Chasm . no doubt. if that was a contest and I am correct, I want a free set. are you listening MTG Wizards???

The reserve list is for people that collect Magic cards like baseball cards. It helps those that only collect to have cards whose value will increase over time so they can sell them for huge amounts later. It can somewhat hurt and help venders. It hurts them when people cash in big money cards and helps when people buy them. Players, however, get the short end of the stick. Some of the cards on the reserve list are cards that players need to play in formats such as Vintage and Legacy.
The only real possibilities for the art shown are Glacial Chasm (because the foregrounded feature is a chasm in a glacier) or Dark Depths (artwork is appropriate for a snow land and there is a "dark depth"). My money is on Chasm because I'm pretty sure there would be some hint of Marit Lage lurking in the Dark Depths art. Either way, it shows that they're willing to put "doesn't tap for mana" lands in this set.
Also, there is no concept of "thawing" in this artwork, so I'm ruling out Thawing Glaciers (although it might still be in the set).

It doesn't actually guarantee that those cards will increase in value over time. A large number of cards on the reserved list are and always will be worthless. Also, while Wizards won't reduce those cards' value by reprinting them, they can still reduce their value in other ways, such as by banning/restricting them or by printing new cards that affect their demand.

They can break the reserved list, if they feel it necessary. The reserved list has also been altered in the past, not to mention there are cards on that list that are ridiculously reserved (they will also break the list when the cards are available digitally, which really questions what the list is FOR). This is a good time for them to break the list.
I also chose several lands that would tap for color, something I heard lands do these days. On top of which, there's a land for EACH color, and legendaries in this respect. A host of the lands chosen are funky (Citadel is the only common) while others are designed to make difficult and useful cards available to others who will NOT have the chance to get them, and thus SELL the bloody thing. I mean, WotC wants money, you want cards, and they don't want to take it from you? Travesty!
The lands chosen above include a host of man lands, and cards that seem to benefit from them ... why? That alone should question the variety you've chosen to exclude. Chasm has an upkeep, and I presume you only chose it because Glaciers is reserved, but ARBOR?!
