I'm not sure why I am seeing Think Twice in spell lists all over the place. Just when did the Cantrip itself get to be worth 2 CC? We had blue poison decks that wouldn't even touch Steady Progress going gaga over Think Twice, with a actuall CC of 5 for 2.

I mean, I can understand the excitment about Forbidden Alchemy. That works for me. It's some of the best Card Filtering in the format. Just paying 2 to draw a card though? Ponder lets me draw the card I want for 1. For 3, I can Divine two cards with Divination.

Think Twice just seems like a bad choice to main deck, and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on why it's happening?

Think twice is an instant speed draw2.  That's something that blue control decks have to struggle to cut, not to play.

its still "cheap" instant speed card draw

Blue is the best color ever.  How do you deal?

It's a card you can play on turn 2 to hit your third land drop or if they don't give you something to mana leak.

It's also something you can cast from hand or graveyard for when your opponent passes the turn without any good counterspell targets.

It's not the best thing ever, but it seems to be working fine for people at the moment.

They apparently decided that good card draw is too good. In comparison to some of the older stuff (Ancestral Vision, Phyrexian Arena, Jace 1.0, Bob), Think Twice is just exceptionally crappy.

In Legacy, Blue is the best color. Let's punish blue, in Modern. And they listened!

Man, look how bad cards are in standard right now.  We're playing DISSIPATE? That card SUCKS in comparison to Force.

Glux, he said "Vision," not "Recall" =P. But aside from that, yeah.

Uh... I'm pretty sure Bob isn't the best card of all time, and as to the others, there is plenty more where they came from, now largely forgotten, e.g. Thirst for Knowledge and Fact or Fiction. I'm not even talking about crazy stuff like Jace 2.0, Brainstorm and Top... The latter two are more virtual CA than true CA, but still.

Fact is, raw card draw has been nerfed. Other than that, there are some very powerful cards in Standard.

(Some two years ago, I recall having an argument here in the Standard forum, when I was saying Sign in Blood was a bad card, and around five people were telling me it was good... I still think it's really, really bad...)

Bob is the best creature of all time.

I'd call that one of the best cards of all time...

& Sign in Blood is a very good card.

Raw card-draw was nerfed because it was WAY too ****ing good.

Bob is format-dependent.

Also, SiB is good. Only problem with it is the "BB" cost.
