Hi folks, Been a while since I posted a casual decklist. When I saw Cackling Counterpart in the Innistrad spoiler I fell in love with it - while the flashback is great, I primarily love the instant speed. However, in this decklist I give a lot of access and power to both. The Cackling Witness // Lands - 24 4 x Breeding Pool 4 x Misty Rainforest 9 x Forest 7 x Island A lot of basic lands to get as much use out of cloned Simulacrums as possible, and the original decklist had 4x Explosive Vegetation in it. However, 4-8 of the basics could be swapped out for nonbasics such as Reflecting Pool or Flooded Grove .
// Creatures - 32 4 x Solemn Simulacrum 4 x Primeval Titan 4 x Noble Hierarch 4 x Eternal Witness 4 x Acidic Slime 4 x Mystic Snake 4 x Coiling Oracle 4 x Keiga, the Tide Star Being a deck based around Cackling Counterpart, I needed a lot of creatures - fortunately, the creatures do what a lot of spells would, so it's not a huge problem. Primeval Titan is one of the finishers due to the synergy between Counterpart and E-Wit (basically becomes : put a token copy of E-Wit onto the battlefield), so more mana is a great thing, but for the Keiga spot there were quite a few options. I do like the MC ability, especially how Keiga + Counterpart = double mind control, but I could have easily gone with something like Duplicant . Every other creature is fairly self explanatory, and Noble Hierarch is pretty much the only creature I'd be unhappy to clone.
// Noncreatures - 4 4 x Cackling Counterpart It's a Cackling Counterpart deck, and it really does get highlighted as the only noncreature in the deck. However, with a cheap initial cast, great synergy with Eternal Witness and a managable flashback cost in a ramp deck, it certainly fulfills its task well.
Enjoy! ^_^ Jax

I want to see some Mulldrifters in there, but not sure where. Pretty cool though.
Everything Mown does is elegant.

You could include Scrivener and/or Nucklavee as Witnesses 5-12 (probably not 12, but you get the point.)

So, how would I use a card that has a large in the top half and "sui?l? -- pu?? ?is?q" across the middle?
Winning is not important if:
1. You win by a blowout.
2. You pay billions of dollars in cards to win. If you like wasting money just to win one game, while you could have saved it to lose a few and end up winning more in the future, then it is fine by me.
what?
do you ceremonially light your deck on fire after a win?
Or did no one notice Transmogrifying Licid before. (And by not notice, I mean covered their ears and shouted LA LA LA LA )
Hmmm...
I think the most awkward situation at the moment is simply the Myr Welder / Equipment / Licid / Aura craziness, but I'm pretty sure he's aware of it.
If the most awkward thing going on right now involves Licids, I declare victory.

Mage is awesome, BTW.
Dear Mage24365,
You are totally awesome. Thank you so much. I hope you are able to dine in Paradise without kicking the bucket to actually get there, and that every dollar you ever make magically becomes two more.
I don't think there are any cards like that.
There are things that prevent you from activating activated abilities, things that increase their cost, and things that counter them, but I don't think anything triggers from them specifically.
There are things that trigger from targeting, so that might be relevant, but I can't think of anything that triggers from targeting a player.
I'm almost positive there's nothing that triggers from damage being prevented.
Rings of Brighthearth ; Dormant Gomazoa ; Samite Ministration .
Well played.

Seems like parallel lives would make this work. In order for the deck to recur you have to keep copying Witness, but if you add parallel lives you could return multiple copy spells.
