Is it just me, or is the UG event deck almost completely unplayable? Like, how are you even supposed to win?
The only real threats are the 2 copies of bonehoard and the 6 llurghoyfs (counting GSZ) which are laughably, easily answered or outraced by every deck. Are we supposed to start beating down on turn 6 with (how many, like 4?) spider tokens?
And don't get started on how this deck can't even reliably answer creature threats...

I wonder how much the Event Decks are going to be in Canada... Birds typically goes for 20 bucks by itself, so 5 bucks for a whole rest of the deck seems a good deal.
You serious, it's between 2 and 5 euros over here.
I have no idea where s/he is in Canada, or if s/he is being gouged by his/her LGS, but BoPs for me in Montreal are about $5... I can get the event decks for roughly $20.
My LGS in Vancouver sells 'em for about $25 or so, taxes in. I'll likely give 'em a miss since I've bought enough packs that I can probably assemble them with what I have, with only some additional trading to fill in the holes (maybe about $10-12 worth of singles each, give or take?). Great for a first timer, though.

I think they're going to wait to Dark Ascension before they drop us a Werewolf deck. There just isn't that many good Werewolves to choose from in the common slots right now, and they seem to be skittish actually adding value to event decks, due to how the market tends to inflate them past MSRP.

I am quite sad to see no Werewolf deck. I thought for sure when there was no werewolf intro pack that there would be an event deck for them. With so many people excited about this tribe, and so much fun synergy, it seemed like an obvious choice.
You are not the only one.
However, from MaRo's tumblr, apparently there are logistical issues with putting DFCs into precon decks, which means we may not ever see a Werewolf Event Deck, or even a single DFC in one at all. I hope this is not the case, but from Mark's wording it sounds like it will be.

I would also say the first sketch looks much better. That one has a sort of creepy feel, he is comming of the stairs towards you, but does not seem to take notice of you at all.... not yet. The one they've used is just a skeleton. A good skeleton nonetheless, but it doesnt have a lot of flavor to it. And its not creepy at all. The first one says "its comming, run quickly!", the second one just says "hit it on the head." Hope they'll be using the other one someday.
I'm sorry, late to the party. I wonder if anyone noticed in the first sketch that the Skeleton is looking at his own portrait. This, and this reason alone, enforces the feeling of a remnant remaining in his own domain, rather than going on as the unliving horde or something else's toy. Perhaps he performed an experiment that rendered him thus, and mourns his current state solemnly. Nothing iherently evil, cruel, or terrible. The image chosen, however, implies too much of the creepy and not enough of the "manor" to be evokative of the setting. Instead, it's just a generic "spook."

"Ever since man first left his cave and met a stranger with a different language and a new way of looking at things, the human race has had a dream: to kill him, so we don't have to learn his language or his new way of looking at things." --- Zapp Brannigan (Beast With a Billion Backs)

Anyone else notice how today's standard decklist contains very little Innistrad? Like, the only mainboard Innistrad cards are land? Is Innistrad that weak?

So you'll make a crappy illusions deck. But no werwolf themed deck. Why make something new and then not offer a deck to show it off. Shame on you wizards. sigh: If I see the UG deck I might buy it but the white deck will probably be more expensive with the crusaders and all.
The problem is the fact that DFCs don't really, you know, work. They want the deck to be playable"out of the box; not playable once you mark up the checklist cards or playable if you buy some sleeves.

Sorry if I know nothing of Dack Fayden, greatest thief of the Planeswalker variety... but I'm fairly sure he is no Lupin the Third!
