Innistrad is fully spoiled. It's time to start speculating about Dark Ascension!

Here's what we know:

- Sorin will almost assuredly be getting a new Planeswalker card in the set.
- MaRo has said that fans of the Innistrad card Village Cannibals will "enjoy" Dark Ascension, meaning that there will likely be many similar cards in that set.

Discuss away.

So that means we'll get a solvent green card?

Calling multiflashback right now.

And we should also get a Werewolf legend and a Human legend (I thought we were going to get the human in this set). I would expect that guy from those letters they have been sneaking around (his name is Raben, I think) to be the green white human legend. I don't know about the werewolf one though.

There will also probably be a couple of monocolored rare legends. I would expect to see Thalia, a green human, Ludevic or Sticher Geralf as a blue card, and some others maybe. Thalia could possibly be the green white human too.

Perhaps in regards to Village Cannibals , there will be either a mechanic or subtheme of black colored humans. The set is called Dark Ascension after all. There will also probably be a +1/+1 counter subtheme, because there are a lot of those in Innistrad.

I am certain Sorin will be either black red or just red. This both the planeswalkers in Innistrad are black already, and normally every color gets a planeswalker by the end of the block.

There have been other occasions where people quoted in the flavor text aren't featured as legends. I figure it goes for those people as well.

Planeswalkers don't follow cycles or are distributed "fair", they're in a block because it makes sense for the storyline.

I hope we see flashback cards with additional effects when the flashback cost is paid.

Something simple like this:

Seething Punishment

Seething Punishment deals 3 damage to target player.

Flashback

If Seething Punishment was cast with it's flashback cost, Seething Punishment deals 3 damage to target player and each creature he/she controls instead.

I will totally dissagree with you. Everything they create in Magic have to be balanced, that is why we have red wampires in Innistrad, because even though it is gothic theme each color should hav the same chances.

Sorin for 100% will be red/black o red (because remember that we do not need black mana for Garruk). And I suspect new planeswalkers in white and blue (and I am really excited about them).

I am also interested why they introduced devils in that set, maybe they want to give as some angels vs. devils war in the last set of that block?

multiflashback would be an interesting mechanic.  especially if you can't do any 'multi' shenanigans when you cast it from your hand.  sort of like multikicker that can only be paid when casting from your graveyard.  although it might be too soon after worldwake to do the whole 'take an old mechanic and make it multi!' again.

or perhaps there will be superflashback, which provides a 3rd cost which can be paid to cast that spell from exile.  perhaps the first flashback cost will say to exile the card face-up.  then when you superflashback from exile, you exile it face-down, at which point it's effectively dead.  (until ultramegaflashback!)

i hope we see more curses.  especially some rare (dare i say mythic?) ones, just because i think it's an awesome card type and i hope they don't end up like traps from zendikar and get largely ignored.  they look like fun in multiplayer formats especially.  and if they continue with curses, i wouldn't be surprised to see them make cards that care about them, like septic rats for infect.  or or, a curseforge mystic!

and as polarizing as they are, i think there will be a lot more double-sided cards in the next set with at least 2 guaranteed in each booster.  maybe even double-sided enchantments and lands.  the name of the set sort of hints at cards that ascend/transform, and the 'dark' could refer to the moon symbol on the reverse side.

Come to think of it, Unearth would be a natural inclusion. The flavor is there.
