Given how dark this first set is and how the second set is (going by the name) also dark, I'm guessing the block will have a happy ending because otherwise it wouldn't have any sort of progression.
Neither did Empire Strikes Back, but it's still the best of the six (or nine if anyone still remembers Holiday Special and those Ewok Adventure movies) Star Wars films.
I'm not arguing that progression is better. Just that it's something Wizards has done in all their most recent blocks, so it's something they're likely to do again in this block.
In fact, if you look at every block from Time Spiral until now, you'll notice that the last set of each has been the polar opposite of the first. (Assuming you count Lorwyn and Shadowmoor as one block. If you don't, the pattern doesn't hold up as well.)

i'm nearly shaking with the visceral reaction this set is already welling up within me. this is more than "another magic set" to me. i feel it reverberating with something deep within me, the way some of Poe's poems do, or the way some of my hauntingly favourite films do, or the way some of my favourite hard rock music does.
i don't know what it is about it; why this all feels so much more hauntingly beautiful than (say) a typical horror film. if i was someone who cried easily, i would be shedding tears, it's so beautiful...

Every single piece of art in that awe-inspiring article was absolutely supreme. I thought that nothing could top my excitement for Phyrexians coming back, but Innistrad looks like an amazing plane that couldn't possibly be delved into deep enough. It's way too long until the next installment! I'll really enjoy reading these guides closer to Halloweentime, though.

Looks like this block is shaping up to be uniquely fun, and visually intriguing. I'm excited to see how the different factions play out. Vampires already have plenty of good cards (although I don't like playing them), but werewolves have next to nothing. At least it isn't campy or Twilight-esque. I'm hoping for more architecture on basic lands, like the lands from Ravnica, except maybe farm houses, instead of a megatropolis. Really, the werewolves may be just the thing I've been looking for to get back into Magic. Hoping for some Frankenstein's Monster type undeads too.

The good: Demons! This whole season deal - new mechanics concerning seasons? The art is gorgeous Some original philosophy around the afterlife A couple mysteries Werewolves!
The bad: factions again Church of Avacyn seems bland Apparently it's all about planeswalkers again Humans against monsters isn't very innovative No real surprises so far
Fallen Star VerlagPlay Legacy! Decks: Legacy Natural Order/Hulk EDH Iname, Death Aspect Rosheen Meanderer Casual Elves! I petition for the removal of the mythic rarity.

This reminds me of the setting of some of the Warhammer Fantasy novels (especially older ones), and parts of Mordheim (both Games Workshop games). Im not complaining - I really enjoyed those settings so this is a good thing IMO. ~ Tim

Not bad. But what happens flavor wise when one kamahl kills the other one?
Zis iz a sign uf deep psychological troma, buried in zer subconscious mind. By keelink himzelf, Kamahl iz physically expressink hiz feelinks uf self-disgust ova hiz desire for hiz muzzer. [/GermanPsychologistVoice]
That makes no sense to me.
If they spelled the ability out on the card in full then it would not be allowed in a mono-black Commander deck, but because they used a keyword to save space it is allowed?

Yup, just like you can have Birds of paradise in a mono green deck but not Noble Hierarch . YAY COLOR IDENTITY
Is algebra really that difficult?
Survey says yes.
You want to make a milky drink. You squeeze a cow.
I love this description. Like the cows are sponges filled with milk. I can see it all Nick Parks claymation-style with the cow's eyes bugging out momentarily as a giant farmer squeezes it like a squeaky dog toy, and milk shoots out of it.

The theme behind this set is incredible and the set looks fantastic. I can't wait to see more on the werewolves.

Awesomeness.
So,
Gavony = WG Kessig = GR Stensia = RB Nephalia = BU
I wonder what UW is represented by? The Church of Avacyn? The Moon? (If travel is possible?)

I can think of several "futureshifted" cards from Future Sight that would potentially fit here: Street Wraith and the delve cards, Logic Knot , Death Rattle and Tombstalker . Although it might be a bit weird because according to this world's mythology, death is supposed to be a peaceful respite, so a mechanic that exiles things from the graveyard would seem more white or green in this setting than black. (And now that I think of it, we had cycling relatively recently as well, so I doubt that's coming back either.) Well, we'll see.
