When I first saw Mind Unbound I thought it might be a decent draft card. Sure it had a high CMC, but it seemed like an autowin if you got it on turn 6. However, actually seeing it in action, on my opponent's side, I have to go against my initial assessment. Spoiler:
Show
5: terrifyingly, insanely good. always first pick every time, find a way to fit it into your deck. 4.5: easy first pick, definitely splashworthy. 4: first pick, potential splash, very strong color incentive. 3.5: first couple picks, maybe first in a weak pack. possible splash if it's easy. 3: strong roleplayer, definitely played if in color. early to mid pick. 2.5: mid pick, strong filler. 2: solid filler, mid to late pick. 1.5: not happy to run, but okay filler if you pick it up late. 1: 23rd card if you have to 0.5: conceivably sideboardable. 0: no.
Considering it directly led to his demise, I think I have to rate this a 1 at best. Because it has a CMC of 6, the best case scenario is generally playing it on turn 6, where you have at most 28 cards left in your deck. Which means unless you have some enchantment or bounce, the card itself will kill you in 6 turns. That seems much too risky for a card you also risk never playing because it has such a high CMC.

I'll give it a 2. While it may put you on a 6 turn clock, you are going to ramp up to some serious card advantage. If you are in white or green, it should be easy for you to get rid of it by turn 4 or 5 if you haven't been able to draw out a bomb of some sort.
Would I pick this early everytime I play blue? No. But I could see myself using it in a more controlling strategy to draw out my bombs.

This card is hard to rate, because it's so volatile. I'd average it 1, as I'll rather pick any playable over this most of the times.

I'll have to reserve judgement until I've used it but it sure looks sweet! Maybe the ultimate card to combo with Jace's Erasure?

I recently watched a draft video where the guy played UR and had a Mind Unbound. Drawing into a ton of bounces, counters, and burns was fun to watch.
Overall I wouldn't want to be playing it very often, though.

Hard to rate for sure. Probably best with green but then again, if you can avoid going G/U, you should do so. .5-1.5/5

Would you mind shooting me a link to where this is hosted? I love watching draft videos and this one sounds pretty interesting. Thanks!

Phyrexian Vatmother put you on a clock too, doesn't make it a bad card. Mind Unbound finds your threats and answers for you, no questions asked. Unfortunately you have to actually HAVE those cards, but if I see this I will take it over most just because it's such a good enabler. So, 3.

the difference between phyrexian vatmother and this card, though, is that phyrexian vatmother can kill your opponent in three turns. this is a completely different beast.
i'll give it a 1. i don't think i'd ever first pick it, and would only maybe take if it wheeled and i was in blue.
