Hello everybody!  With standard, there is a major rift between the decks that frequently do well at big tournaments and the decks that show up less frequently that people still like to play.  This is for those threads.  Generally, this section will be for decks that actually have shown up in the top tables of a major tournament at some time, but we'll deal with these requests on a case by case basis.

Another thing I want to make clear - like the Tier 1 Tournament Center, you will not be allowed to post a thread here without permission.  But hey, that's what this request thread is for.  If there's a deck you think deserves to go in this section, post it here for approval by me or CageofPancakes.  If either of us okay the deck, go ahead and make a thread.
Come check out my friend's youtube channel where he gives bad movies what's coming to them!

Firstly, I want to say that the addition of a standard tier 2 subforum is long overdue. I definitely like the change. I am curious though if the purpose of this subforum is to discuss tier 2 decks that could become tier 1 decks with enough work and the right tools, or if it is to discuss tier 2 just as they are, tearing up some local FNMs and occasionally eking out a win at a larger tournament.

Secondly, if I could propose a deck that I believe should go in this section, it is definitely U/W Puresteel. The deck has made several top 8 showings and is very fun to play. Another possible deck is Grand Architect. It has had fewer top 8 placements, but is still a strong deck and has proven that it has a good matchup against some of the tier 1 decks.

I'm not sure if there is a Puresteel thread in the deck help subforum, but I know there is one for Architect decks that could be moved over. If there is no Puresteel thread, I am willing to make one.

Here's a thread to move here, it's by no means popular enough for tier 1, but it belongs here on achievements at least: community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758...(Control_and_Tezz)?sdb=1&pg=last#505347317

Could you move the KRed thread from Deck Help to here?

Also, if there's a Goblins thread somewhere (I think there is), then that should probably go here as well.

KRed: community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758...

Dunno if there's a Goblins Thread with a proper OP and primer and so on. If there's not, you might want to consider asking someone to do it - also, if you can't find anybody, I won't mind doing it. Not much, anyway. =)

the one problem i still have with this set up is that if i'm building a "rogue" list, but its clearly built with a higher caliber of cards.... i don't want to get spammed by bad ideas from posters in deck help.  but, that's where i'm made to start out.  i was hoping the "in between" section of the forums would be set up to recieve good level of decks.  now granted i realize that decks that, say, wouldn't meet certain qualifications would still get posted, but it just gets hard when you post a deck in deck help and it gets buried under the 7th thread about illusions or 17th mono black thread, or 10th golem thread.

that is all.

additioinally, doesn't this set up maybe have cause to create a lot more logistical work if archetypes became more and less popular on a event to event basis?

I agree with everything that B_F said. Didn't want to be the one to bring it up now that we've finally gotten our third sub-forum, but yeah.

So you put (Tournament Level) in the thread title, and maybe make a disclaimer in the OP, takes what, 20 seconds?

This forum is the go-between for decks. Decks that are good but just dont cut it in tournament and do not really post much results if any.

Now a problem I think you have, is that you think posting in this new forum will somehow eliminate bad critique and ideas. It will not, we do not limit the people who will post in this new forum.

Also if a deck does not get discussion in deck help, that generally means people are not interested or the deck itself is uninteresting and people just do not want to discuss it or develop it. That is not Deck Helps fault. That is just how things work. Threads in deck help will still be made and discussion will happen.

Also saying the ideas are bad are suggestive and differs quite a bit, what I wont use and what are bad are two different things. Also it could come down to ideolgy and other things.

We're grouping the red deck wins variants into the thread in the Tier 1 section, which includes traditional red deck wins, goblins, and KRed.  More specific discussion of the archetype can go in either the TC thread that's already there or in the deck help thread if people prefer that.
