Hey, I am new to EDH and thought it looked fun. Before this I ran a G/W Saproling deck so once I saw "Counterpunch" I couldn't resist. I am on a bit of a budget so unless mandatory please be reasonable. Saddly I havn't had the time to test this deck on anyone yet and I will be away for a wile so I was hoping I could get some help in the meantime. The main idea of the deck is to compleatly overrun my enemy Thanks.

A grave pact or Butcher of Malakir would both be handy additions to the deck.

Basic Lands - 20

Plains x7

Forest x7

I think the deck is week to flyers and have added, against my better judgement, Spidersilk Armor .  The reason I don't like it is because it stops Sigil Captain from working.   I might swap Arashi, the Sky Asunder back in again.

I don't like the guildmages they are easy to cast but very expensive to use and as above I didn't choose to take anything that just gives my creatures +1/+1 it needs to be tokens.

The most expensive card I think in the list is Doubling Season but it's vital really, as is Ashnod's Altar and Earthcraft

There are still cards I keep thinking about for the deck:

Nemata, Grove Guardian because if you have say 40 tokens attacking you can sack any that are blocked to boost the others without messing with Sigil Captain

I'm pretty sure I want a Bramblewood Paragon in there somewhere too.

Replenish seems to be very useful.

Academy Rector to get that Doubling Season or Earthcraft into play.

Jugan, The Rising Star also seems interesting.

I'm not too happy about Luminous Angel and also haven't included any Planeswalkers but Lillian, Elspeth Tirel would be great to start with.

Just hit me could try a Doubling Season and some poliferate effects as well. For proliferaate you could use Contagion Clasp and Plaguemaw Beast just for starters.

I know Doubling Season , I have been looking for that card for nearly a year and still no luck. But how would Proliferate help? It generates counters, not tokens.

Doubling Season puts also twice the number of counters (second sentence), useful with Sigil Captain which also puts counters on creatures. Does that mean if you play a creature and proliferate, you will have four +1/+1 counters ?  :D

Poliferate would help with myocologist , twilight dover , fertilid , Scavenging Ooze and the thalids, and mycoloth . Could throw a Spike Breeder and then just pump out tokens. Use proliferate effects to replish +1/+1 counters on ghave.

Ghave specialises in changing counters into tokens and vice versa.

The beast, however, would let you add counters to Ghave, Vish-Kal, Asmira, Mycoloth, Twighlight Drover , Triskellion and Forgotten Ancient (they are the ones I picked out of the list).

If you've got Juniper Order Ranger or Sigil Captain in play then the creatures you generate have +1/+1 counters on them so proliferate would add to them as well.

I'm not sure if you've considered some of the plays for the deck for example: Ghave, Sigil Captain/Juniper Order Ranger and Ashnods Altar?  Doubling Season really adds to the options which is why I think it's a must and am considering buying 4 from Australia and then selling three on over here in the UK.

I'm not sure if you've seen my other post but there's also a Legend coming in Innistrad and From the Vault that I think rocks in this deck and would also benefit from proliferate.
