Play whatever was good in Lor/Sha-Shards standard, + other stuff from the other blocks. I hear SFM is getting mighty powerful.

The best deck in the format was definitely U/W Fae-Blade, and that was possibly even pre-Batterskull. This is the deck that the lazy people are going to default to, provided they do even a little research.

I'd think about Mythic Conscription since you can beat Fae-Blade at the Planeswalker game with Jace and Elspeth.
Current decks:
Type II: B/R Vampires
Extended:
Modern: U/G Scapeshift
1.5: Ichorid, Elf Combo

Is Esper Fae Blade not better, since you get blossom and thoughtseize?

U/W gives you access to Mutavault and a few Tectonic Edge while letting nearly every land in your deck come into play untapped.

That being said, I'm sure you could also hammer out a decent U/B Faeries list though you'd probably need to play at least two maindeck Sword of Feast and Famine.

I've been spending most of my time on extended, and it seems it's basically the best Stoneforge Mystic deck is the best deck. Whether it's Junk, Bant, UW fae or UW merfolk, it's basically a stoneforge based format. I'm beginning to think Stoneforge is too good for extended as well as Standard. The other two decks are Steel and Scapeshift, so it's a pretty closed format. I think GW Stoneforge is probably best, sicne you run hatebears, like pridemage, teeg and arbiter so you can hose lots of decks and win the stoneforge battle.

Pretty much. It makes for an inbred meta, but at least the artifact and enchantment hate is extremely efficient. The interesting discussion going on in my play group is whether or not it's possible to sneak a conscription package into a bant stoneforge list, since it opens up a new line of play, and REALLY punishes the opponent for pathing a crusader or popping a pridemage on a sword early on. Personally, I think Sun titan would be a safer option, but I'm not a fan of the dude-ramp lists. I'd rather have threats from 2cmc to 4cmc rather than risk awful topdecks.

I've thinking about Elves, surely they are better now since they have Dismember to kill hate cards and threats like canonist.

I also think Doran Blade might be better than bant, since Abolisher is really strong but doesn't hose discard, and Zenith can find Doran without having to run too many and skew your top decks.

I do like Doran stoneforge, but if you build a list, I strongly recommend that you make a list that only makes use of doran as a stand-alone threat. This means no more than 2 Treefolk harbingers and singletons of nameless inversion and chameleon colossus.

I would sooner run spellskite in a doran list maindeck, over abolisher. Easier on the manabase, way better upside when doran is out, and a MUCH better blocker against jund. Essentially, you want more dudes that dodge firespout and fallout.

Jund is considered unplayabe now, it's not even in the testing gauntlet for a lot of players at the moment.

The Doran Stoneforge list I'm testing is somethign like:

4 Loam Lion
2 Treefolk Harbinger
2 Doran
4 Dungrove Elder
4 Stoneforge Mystic(-1?)
4 Qasali Pridemage
4 Gaddock Teeg
(24)

4 Thoughtseize
1 Sword of Feast and Famine
1 Sword of War and Peace
1 Batterskull(-1?)
2 Dismember
3 Maelstrom Pulse
2 Path To Exile
(14)

4 Misty Rasinforest
4 Verdant Catacomb
4 Murmuring Bosk
1 Swamp
1 Plains
9 Forest
(23)

Dungrove Elder is straight up better than Knight in terms of this deck, since it's usually bigger, but hexproof and turning lands on is huge. A sword holder they can only wrath away who is massive on his own. The Downside of the guy being the manabase effects.

When Modern hits, Dungrove will be super good, since he'll be a shrouded land avatar for a low price and you can easily make all your lands forests without worry. Turn one GSZ for Dryad Arbor, turn two shrouded 3/3 that grows every turn....

Anyway, not done enough testing for this list yet, I'm also considering a team italia deck, since it was able to compete with UW stoneforge in standard, and gets some nice tools from the extended card pool.
