Loam lion seems incredibly weak compared to noble heirarchs. Turn 2 Doran or Dungrove on the play is especially potent. Also, it seems like you would be better off cuting down on the teegs and placing 2 GSZs in replacement. that way, your own teeg isn't going to interfere with your GSZs, and you get a much better toolbox effect. Basically, I don't really agree with loam lions unless you're running ranger of eos. Secondly, I think you can afford to run 2 or 3 stirring wildwoods, since they match up so well against any of the un-sworded fae creatures. As for the sideboard, I would run control and RDW hate, which basically means timely reinforcements, bitterblossom, Scattershot Archer (super fae tech, also works nicely with GSZ), 2 elspeth, and possibly a baneslayer or wall of reverence.

Heirarch allows you to run four drops like Elspeth, although Teeg works badly with GSZ and speth. You generally need all forests for Dungrove to be a pure beast, which is a pain.
Loam Lion is a good top deck compared to heirarch, but I understand your point entirely.
I've alo been looking at a Team italia build which is more within my knowledge and skillset:
4 Stoneforge Mystic 4 Squadron HAwk 1 Bitterblossom 3 Grim Lavamancer 3 Stillmoon Cavalier (15) 4 Thoughtseize 1 Inquisition of Kozilek 4 Equipment 3 Bolt 1 Dismember 2 Path To Exile (15) 3 Ajani Vengeant 2 Elspeth (5) 4 Mutavault 4 Blackcleave Cliffs 4 Arid Mesa 4 Marsh Flats 1 Ruggged Prairie 1 Fetid Heath 3 Plains 2 Mountain 2 Swamp (25)
If my building and testing fails, my backup deck is Tezzeret Steel.

haha what a curveball. Cyrus, give me a few days to finalize a doran list for modern, and I guarantee you top 8 with it. Not having to worry about SFM or mental mistep makes Doran lists disgustingly fast and safe.
