Sol Ring in Commander? Yes please. About time you guys did that. It gets practically no play except in EDH, in which it's a staple. And a lot of players have a hard time acquiring them. This was a brilliant, and beautiful decision. I can feel the love!
On the other hand...
War Monk? Seriously?
Guys. It's not played in any format. It probably won't ever be played in any format ever again. The new art blows. And you couldn't even be bothered to put on new flavor text. This card is a real disappointment. :\

I guess I'm alone in the camp of people who don't like Sol Ring.
It's a strong card, I get that.
I'm against cards that are supposed to be "auto-include." I play Commander/Singleton because I like the variance of having all kinds of different decks. I want to play 100 different cards, not 90 cards + the 10 cards everyone else is also playing and call you stupid if you don't. It's also one of those cards that can swing games straight out of the gates. And I'm not just talking about the five player game where one player gets their first turn ring. What if it's a five player game and you're the one person who DIDN'T?
That said I'm glad that if it's going to be there it's going to be easy enough to get, but still. Not good for the game in my opinion.
I totally agree with you, and I think Ring and Top would be very reasonable bans for the format. But since they're legal, it's very nice to have the card become just a little more available.
@Qmark: If you don't want EDH cards, don't buy EDH precons. I don't even know what you're complaining about.

I grant it's not the most exciting, and I'm never that crazy about non-Standard FNM cards anyway, but Rhox War Monk is not quite unplayable.

They're going to reprint Sol Ring  ? I do hope that the good people at Magic R&D will recover soon from their unfortunate traffic accident.  In any case, there once was a movie titled Angels With Dirty Faces - about young children growing up in a slum area. But now we have an Archangel with cute buns. Not that I'm complaining, a bit of pulchritude is normal enough for this sort of thing, but sometimes it does strike one as odd.
Coming up with weird ideas to make everyone happy since 2008!  I have now started a blog as an appropriate place to put my crazy ideas.
