I did consider the Clone type creatures when I started building the deck, but since the whole concept of the deck is that I can change my creatures into any other creature using Mirror Entity and Shapesharer anyway, I decided that this sort of creature had, if anything, less utility in this deck than in most other blue decks.  If you guys can offer a good argument for putting them in, then I'm eager to hear it, but otherwise neither the Metamorph or the Imposter seem to me to be right for this deck.

What I'm looking for is creatures that can be utilised by the Mirror Entity , Shapesharer pairing in order to offer me more control over the game and strong defenses.  For instance, the Myr Propagator tokens can be changed into Capashen Unicorn s and sacrificed in order to destroy opponent artifacts and enchantments.  My creatures can be turned into Blinking Spirit s if they get targeted by removal and need rescuing.  Spirit Mirror basically turns my Amoeboid Changeling s into "tap to destroy target creature" badasses (Er, I think...  Anyone know whether 'Reflection' counts as a creature type?).  If I have an Amoeboid Changeling and a Shapesharer in play then I can turn one of my opponent's creatures into the creature of my choice, so that I can kick its ass in combat.

So if you know of anything that would fit well into a strategy like this, then that's what I'm really after.  Things like Mother of Runes , which would have been awesome, were it not for the price of the cards.

I'm resurrecting this thread because I decided to have another go at this deck. I always felt that I could've made more of it, so I've been searching through Gatherer for likely candidates and, as usual, I've found loads more than I can hope to fit in the deck. I've already whittled the list down a bit, but I'd be interested to know what you guys think I should run.

At the heart of the deck are:

Shapesharer  with Mirror Entity and Unnatural Selection allow me to change any creature into any other creature. Training Grounds makes Shapesharer's ability affordable to use repeatedly. Spirit Mirror teams up with Unnatural Selection to create a creature killing machine.

New finds are:

Wall of Nets - Creatures blocked by a creature temporarily copying it are permanently exiled. Also could be useful for turning opposition creatures into Defenders during their turns.
Beloved Chaplain - Obviously makes creatures copying it unblockable and able to block opponent creatures without taking damage, as well as shrouding them from creature abilities.
Lord of the Unreal - Mirror Entity can turn all of my creatures into changelings for 1 mana, meaning that they all become hexproofed with this on the table. Also, +1/+1.
Suture Priest - Change my creatures into Priests and win much life-gain and deal much life-loss whenever creatures come into play.
Cephalid Constable - Turn my unblocked attackers into these and bounce my oppositions' permanents.
Somnophore - Turn unblocked attackers into these and tap opponent creatures down permanently.
Thieving Magpie - Turn unblocked attackers into these and draw many cards.

Other ideas that I've sort of removed, but that would also be good are:

Invisible Stalker - For protecting creatures and giving them evasion.
Fog Bank - Can also pull the Defender trick, as well as being an excellent blocker.
Undead Alchemist - I'm really not sure that I shouldn't be playing this. It could do ridiculous damage with Mirror Entity and a token producer would be handy in this deck. I hadn't really planned on it being a mill deck, though. This could possibly be put into a transformative sideboard instead...
Vigilant Martyr - Might go into the sideboard.
Ronom Unicorn - Another sideboard card.
Windborn Muse - Definite sideboard card. A couple of creatures copying this each turn should naff up any swarm deck.
Battletide Alchemist - Another one that possibly ought to be in the first team, but definitely going in the sideboard at least.

I know there's a lot there (hence the struggle I'm having), but I hope you guys can help me sort this lot out because I'm tearing my hair out over it!

Alright, I'm going to give this thread one last bump and see whether there are any more ideas out there. Cats has persuaded me that Shapesharer and Mirror Entity don't belong together in this deck, so I've removed the Mirror Entities, which I may use to build another deck around. As it stands, this deck looks like this:

Creatures:
4 Amoeboid Changeling
3 Shapesharer
3 Beloved Chaplain
3 Lord of the Unreal
4 Wall of Nets
3 Riptide Director
3 Battletide Alchemist

Non-Creatures:
4 Training Grounds
4 Muddle the Mixture
3 Unnatural Selection
2 Spirit Mirror

Lands:
8 Island
6 Plains
4 Sejiri Refuge
3 Azorius Chancery
3 Nimbus Maze

So I'm after cards like Riptide Director and Battletide Alchemist that have powerful effects in blue/white tribal decks, and creatures with powerful effects that can be passed around my guys, like Beloved Chaplain's protection from creatures and Wall of Nets' exiling ability. I wanted to put Somnophore in, but I was getting a bit too full up on 4-mana spells, but strong abilities that are temporary while the creature remains in play, like Somnophore's and Wall of Nets' interest me because they can be copied by other creatures with Shapesharer, rendering their 'leave play' clauses void as long as the creatures copying them survive until Shapesharer's effect ends.

Cheers guys!

KithKin HarBinger can tutor for your ShapeShifters.

Merrow Reejerey could enable shenannigans.

DrogSkol Captain could be interesting.

QuickSilver Gargantuan could be silly.

Distant Melody could result in some big draws.

Have you considered Didgeridoo ?

Have you considered XenoGraft ?

Cavern Of Souls would be good here.

And finally, if you wanted to be silly, you could run Coat Of Arms .
