Karn is a special character. He was created when Urza, Geraerd, and the Legacy were merged... What's to say some of Yagmowth wasn't merged too?
Phyrexia was not always EVIL. Before the petty little bully discovered it, it was a raw machine world... Colorless like Mirrodin without the fleshy bits. These new phyrexians were not evolved in a dark, colorless plane but in a world with five suns constantly pulling, and their new father created that world so the shoul fit better than before.
The key danger is that phyrexians possessed the ability to BUILT planar gates.... When they snag a planeswalker that has been to zendikar BAD THINGS happen. Think a certain being is setting them up because he needs really big bang to get his game on. Dominaria can always use another hollow moon.
Question: Besides my upstanding moral character, what's to prevent me from obtaining a code and visiting multiple stores to claim a full playset of shiny awesomeness? Likewise, what's to stop me from posting said code on the interblag and having my million closest friends use it to get themselves some shiny shiny goodness?

In an age of technology, when you are recieving a -digital- code, you really want to know whats keeping you from breaking the system? The code will be put back in by the vendor to check its authenticity, and then you will get the coresponding card. Then the code becomes invalidated because its been used.
Thats what seems most likely, as it is the most simple process.

Yes, I do want to know. Because in order for them to maintain the codes, they would need for every single game store to have access to some sort of system that would monitor the codes. It's not impossible, but it would be annoying to deal with considering that as far as I know, no such system is currently in place. So I'm expecting that either it IS possible to cheat the system or there will be problems with redeeming cards due to technical incompetence on the end of at least some of the gaming stores.
Alsoalso: I expect they'll have details about how soon you have to buy the game in order to get the card?
Grave Titan looks like he is playing a death metal guitar solo.
Absolutely!!! hahaha, metallica's "creeping death", or slayer's "angel of death" perhaps?
>death metal >metallica >slayer facedesk
my mistake 1,000 apologies, allow me to correct myself and with great rapture. i guess it did say "death metal" which 80's thrash continum now antipscygoglin of whatever metallica is currently metallica, doesn't quite genreise into (genreise jon-ray ize, def: made up two seconds ago to categorise MEWZACK) "big-bad-i'm-valid-and not-a-poser-so-underground-noones-ever-heard-of-it-and-the-whole-band-killed-and-ate-eachother-(like varg varsnees)-because-that-is-so-death-metal-death-metal" apropriately.
i was actually first imagining a giant battle ensuing and pictured "for whom the bell tolls" but i really like the chorus which is straight out of the old testament i.e. "reeping across the land..", (a giant scythe... conection ehhn?) and slayer "angel of death" i.e. with sewing people together like zombies please excuse the way my brain works, my poor immagination and apparent entire lack of musical understanding. please, no face desking. my mos favorite band is actually zimmer's hole.

Most stores have a computer with internet access and a web browser *somewhere*, believe it or not. And I'm pretty sure there's a WPN signin system that's used for things like requesting these promos in the first place.
Hacking on an 'is this code used yet?' system could probably be done by a blind monkey in his sleep.
The trick isn't making an "Is this code used yet?" It's making one that is: A. Easy to use B. Difficult to hack/abuse
Ah well, there's no point arguing over theoreticals. I'm sure Hasbro has a plan that will work. When was the last time a corporate giant screwed up an internet based system?
