- lol, you have almost the exact same problem I do! I had to text my deck to Cathaldus, just before midnight... I made it up on the fly, and originally it had green instead of blue, with Nest Invader as an early creature... anyway, lol, similar deck.

Here's Minus_Prime's rankings (as he PMed them to me): Spoiler:
Show
1. Exalted Hatred - Gaddock Teeg clinches the #1 spot. Despite the fact that half our decks are completely unaffected by the little Kithkin, he keeps the rest of us safe from All is Dust. And no, Capitan can't kill him because Meddling Mage named Ulamog. All the important cards here can be protected by either Meddling Mage or Glory. Only downside is having to kill one player at a time, not that there's anything most decks can do about that Hunted Phantasm. One of the few decks that can deal directly with Admonition Angel, I can deal with that by not exiling any of Helphelpe's stuff in exchange for the gobbo tokens. I like to imagine this deck and mine buddying up to fight crime on the streets of L.A. 2. Colorless Annihilator - Only two things stand between Capitan_Estaban and total domination of the battlefield: Gaddock Teeg and my relentless land destruction, which I WILL rain down upon the colorless annihilator deck as early and as often as possible. 3. Lancelot - Historically, creature-based aggro decks flop harder as the number of players increases, but this one is immune to both Gaddock Teeg and my land destruction. Flanking and an aggressive mana curve makes it the top deck for creature combat. It's got spot removal for troublesome support creatures, and it tends to bowl over a defensive line anyway, unless there's some kind of token generator like Emeria Angel or Rampaging Baloths out there. It's Boros. It will kill someone. Maybe two someones, and fairly quickly, because some of us are fairly slow on the defense this time around. 4. Changeling Wave - I get the feeling this deck would be more at home in the last deck builder's challenge. I also get the feeling it wants Knight Exemplar. A pretty good base of creatures that keep buffing each other, somewhat hindered by Gaddock Teeg's blocking of Genesis Wave. There's some removal for that, but it could prove ineffective. 5. Life Cycles - The trump card, Living Death is nullified by the infamous Mr. Teeg. Infest could prove to be counterproductive by giving the other players plenty of creatures in their own graveyards for when Living Death goes off. Feels like too much of a gamble and not enough insurance, especially now that counter spells are emerging on the scene. 6. Forecast - I'll be honest: I have almost no experience with Forecast. While this does look like a good Forecast deck, it doesn't feel like it has the ability to take on multiple players at once. I think it'd require too much mana for too few single targeted effects. Counter spells are a nice touch. Interestingly, it does look like a good fight vs Helphelpe's Exalted deck. This whole contest has a rock-paper-scissors feel to it. 7. Regular Annihilator - Sorry dude, this is the only deck that actually seems to be hurt by its choice of keyword. When your primary combo is Intruder Alarm + Splinter Twin, you don't need Eldrazi, you just need literally anything. Cloud Sprite. Suntail Hawk. Stick that combo with a 1/1 flyer for infinity flyers and kill infinity players simultaneously on turn 4. As it stands now, this deck won't even have a creature out until at least turn 5 if it gets lucky with land, and it won't have the Annihilators out for a while after unless it got lucky with Emrakul's Hatcher. Would've made a good Transmute or Evoke deck, though. In the future, if you could please just post them in the contest threads instead of Pming them to me, I'd appreciate it. There's always the chance (like with this contest) that I could miss them when you first send them out (also, simply copying and pasting them requires some formatting adjustment so that the post doesn't end up with giant card pictures in the sblock. Just a request for the future. This contest is now closed. i'll commence tallying up all of the point totals.

Thank you and congratulations to everybody involved in this contest. The new contest for this week (a variant on Cadaverous_Bl00m's own tribal format) will begin accepting submissions later today (when I start the thread). I'll update the main contest page at that time (with both this and the previous contest's results).

No disrespect but I don't see how that is unfortunate. Some people are just more competitive than others. If you care about what wins, good. Please respect the fact that I do not. If you do respect it than I apologize for misunderstanding as it is hard to get tone through text. I feel as though your comment was putting down how I play. I hope that we can get along or at least agree to disagree.

Well.. you did sound kind of combative last time. Maybe you could elaborate on what makes each deck look fun to play? Half the fun of these contests is reading everybody's evaluation of our creations.

I did not mean to sound combative and I apologize if I did. I was just trying to explain why I ranked the decks when I know that a lot people look at only what wins. Like I said tone gets lost in text and I apologize Fun, at least to me, is a variety of things including a deck playing well, messing with other player's strategies, taking someone out with me, etc. It depends on my mood. I usually either play a hit hard and fast before a glorious end (and of course with fun) or long term control. Cathaldus could probably explain better since he has been playing against me for a while. Winning just does not seem that important to me like it does to others. To each his/her own. I can't wait to see what people post for this week's contest.

Yeah, I figured that's what you meant - my playgroup has wound up with the same philosophy. After a while, you realize that winning consistently in multiplayer usually means that your decks are more powerful than the rest of your playgroup's, they start building decks to target you specifically, and no-one has any fun. Accepting that you're going to lose at least half the time, and resolving to have as much fun as possible along the way, ends up being the right way to approach things. So if that's how you chose to rank the decks, no problem at all with that!

Unfortunate that you rushed to face him... that incomplete was your training. That... not ready for the burden were you.
From the contest rules Keyword Tribal... All deck submissions are to be judged based on their presumed performance in a multiplayer game.
I think that it is unfortunate that you decided to rank the decks based upon how "fun" they are, since the judging criteria instructed you to do otherwise. It personally doesn't make any difference to me. In actuality, your rankings caused me to take 2nd place instead of 3rd (Minus_Prime would have taken that spot if you hadn't submitted your rankings. Also, Fonthiel/ArtVenn flip-flopped, the other change is that your rank was reduced from 4th to 6th). What I enjoy most is seeing the reasoning why people ranked decks they way they did. As Minus_Prime said, it would have been nice to know why you thought certain decks were more fun than others. I don't begrudge you not doing this, I realize it is a lot of work.
The next contest Non-Iconic Tribal (I don't know the official name, as Cathaldus hasn't posted the thread yet) will be judged partially based upon creativity. I would appreciate it if you decided to submit a deck and judged the entries if you think it will be fun (I figure this is right up your alley).
