While I still get errors in firefox for this site, internet explorer works just fine :S usually it is the other way around... Cathaldus: I know the power of Finest Hour and it would be great in the deck but I think that keeping Gaddock Teeg in play is more important for that deck and because of that you will hardly ever be able to cast it. Cascade 2.0: Spoiler:
Show
And with the end of the contest in sight I am now wondering which deck I should submit.... Exalted, Prowl or Cascade....

Everyone seems to have bested me. I thought that my Storm deck, and infinite turn deck were broken, but everyone seems to have come up with much better decks. Even my lockdown combo is way to slow. So, with that in mind here is a new deck that blatantly steals Tich's cycling engine. (Deck was Ninja edited) Cycling is the Cure
4x Bayou 4x Overgrown Tomb 4x Verdant Catacombs 4x Slippery Karst 4x Polluted Mire 4x Blasted Landscape //Keyword (12+12)4x Fluctuator 4x Repopulate 4x Twisted Abomination // Non-Keyword (24)4x Skyshroud Cutter 4x Grim Tutor 4x False Cure 3x Kavu Predator 2x Skeletal Scrying 2x Reverent Silence 2x Summoner's Pact 1x Pack Hunt 3x Pernicious Deed Other cards I am considering
Show
I have only goldfished the deck a couple of times, and it gets the combo fairly consistently (usually around T4-T6). The added bonus is that all the spell cards have a CMC lower than 4. The deck usually needs to get 4 lands into play (which isn't difficult with 24 land and 4 Forestcyclers), I had considered using Burt Offering to help speed this up, but it wasn't working consistently enough for my taste. Fluctuator/Grim Tutor help you draw into 2xFalse Cure, and when I was goldfishing I assumed the Fluctuator was getting disenchanted immediately (in response, I would just cycle my other cycling cards before drawing for my initial cycled card). With 2x False Cure, each Skyshroud Cutter knocks 15 life off your opponent, so all you need is 2xCutter/Summoner's Pact for the win. This deck would probably auto lose to a T1 Essence Warden (et al.) because they are likely to have more than 30 life (although some games I have 3x Cutter, so they would need 45 life) by Turn 4 (I suppose I could replace Grim Tutor with Death Wish ) so that I can find an answer outside my deck for them to finish off any stragglers...maybe Kavu Predator ). Actually, now that I think about it more, if their Soul Warden is still in play they are going to lose a minimum of 3 life for each Cutter, so they would have to have more than 36 life. I am going to goldfish the deck some more and figure out the exact listing, but this isn't a bad start.
Budget EDH:EDH on $20 a Deck. Join the Group Link has been defeated(X times) by Eyegorc in Dungeons 2(2x), 3(3x), and 6(3x).

My final deck submission is the exalted deck. I have updated it to include Meddling Mage as well hoping to be able to deny my opponents their game winning spells granting me the time to kill them all. Spoiler:

Here are the submissions for the contest so far. I'm going to wait until I'm off of a mac to move them to the front page of the contest (I've had issues with the content of my posts being deleted in whole or in part because of that lately). Just for some clarification on my part, Minus_Prime, is your landfall deck your current submission still, or is it now your persist deck. I currently have your persist deck in that slot, but it wasn't clear to me whether or not you were replacing it as your entry. If it's still the landfall deck, I'll swap it out ASAP. Tich, your deck submission is still not legal within the contest rules. You chose cycling as your keyword but you deck contains cards with imprint . As soon as you fix this I'll add you to the official submissions, but you must rectify this before I do so. Here's what we have so far: Official Contest Submissions (8)

I am now posting the third (and hopefully final) version of my cycling deck. The first two decks were built with the idea that I'd be facing at least a moderate array of counterspells that would ruin my combo. Since that is not the case, I must look to my weakness against the like of Gaddock Teeg and Meddling Mage (the real fear of my deck). As such, a sweeper is in order. My first choice would have been Massacre since I'd be able to cast it for free and kill off the significant annoyances in the meta. It's a shame that Gaddock Teeg still stops him, though. Decree of Pain could work, get in under Gaddock by cycling it, net me a card in the process and have added late-game utility. Problem is that it's expensive, even to cycle. I think that Infest is the way to go here. Since I no longer need Foil , Shoreline Ranger can be easily replaced. Here is the new list: Life Cycles

The version gives me several outs to problem creatures for this deck. Also, against opposing cycling decks, Bojuka Bog will keep them from mitigating my advantage post- Living Death

combo . The mana base has been stripped down to 2 colors, which makes getting the right type of mana a lot quicker and easier. Also, if worse comes to worse, I can always hardcast every creature here. Now, the data: Testing Data

[/quote] When I made this deck this past summer, I made it with flanking being the key point (ask Cathaldus, I make really weird themed decks that somehow work). I also made it before Knight Exemplar came out. I personally think the focus is on those with flanking, and red/white made a better combo then going just white. I see were you are coming from with the ideas; however the creatures with the ability are more of a focus as is my MTG group that I play with. lol

EDIT: I have added all currently legal decks to the post where those are all listed (as I said earlier, when I get to a non-Mac, I'll add them to the front page).

"Each non-evergreen keyword or ability word that is not the chosen keyword or ability word is banned for that deck" Does that mean that the only keyword it can have it the chosen one, or as long as it has the chosen one you can add others such as Sky Hussar if you put it into a Forecast deck, would it still be legal even thought it had flying? Also: Helphelpe's exalted deck is Illegal due to Glory Minus_Prime's persist is Illegal due to Indestructable from Phylactery Lich , and Darksteel Ingot . BrianWolf08's flanking deck is Illegal due to Blood Knight , White Knight . All have keyword's that are banned from their decklists.
