If anybody is puttering around here, I'd like to ask something. The list in the OP here states that all cards banned in Vintage are banned in EDH. But Gatherer lists Shahrazad as being legal. So is it legal?

I have been looking online for a complete and up to date 1v1 / French rules list of banned cards with no luck. Does anyone have a posting or know of a posting where these rules are kept up to date?

  My pool Of friends ( 6 of them ) think that Chancellor of the Spires since it opens Infinite combos way to easy ( heat shimmer ) . 
  There is only one person who thinks it's fine as is, but this is also the same person who would like to play infinite time warp, crusible of worlds/stripmine with orcle mal dias, and tafari with knowlage pool. Which are all unfun. Is it a good rule to make this card a legendary so it can't go infinite or gay and allow it to be playable or should it be ban outright??

I asked this some time ago regarding my Captain Sisay deck possibly using Dark Depths .  The answer is yes;  given that there is no color identity or activation/trigger on the card itself, you can use those examples and more in a non-black EDH deck.  In the situation of Civilized Scholar , however, your deck must be blue/red at least, thanks to Homicidal Brute .  Same with Elbrus, the Binding Blade / Withengar Unbound .

However, do keep in mind that rules in EDH are meant to be flexible...the ultimate authority rests with your meta...if they okay it, by all means, use it.  But the 'official stance' is as stated.
