The best thing to do is start with the decklist compendium and, farther, start a thread about lands discussion.

Is general damage actually possible with The Mimeoplasm ? Doesn't it actually stop being the Mimeoplasm when it enters the battlefield and becomes copies of...stuff?

The name or characteristics of the commander don't matter. Just as long as it is the same card. Mimeoplasm is rarely ever himself but is always a commander.

I am still trying to find out if I shouldn't put artifacts in a mono colored deck.

Yes, though not a rules question.

It's indeed confusing, but at the start of the game u declare who ur general is and they gain a "generaly-ness" effect added to them, nothing in the game can change this "generaly-ness" even if the creature changes what it looks like. Even if The Mimeoplasm copied another creature to copy something else, hes still a commander and therefore always does general damage.
Decks I run Spoiler:
Show
I currently run a deck for Standard, Modern, Commander and Legacy. For standard, I have a typical, horribly budget Rakdos Deck Wins. For Modern, I have a very lovable mono-green, resistant to removal type of deck. For Legacy, I'm trying too hard to break Pyromancer Ascension . For Commander/EDH, I'm running The Mimeoplasm . A little morals thing about me, I like winning through combos, but not infinitely.
However quiet, I am a Christian, so feel free to tell me you are too, it's always a relief.Cheers!

"9. Being a Commander is not a characteristic[MTG CR109.3], it is a property of the card. As such, "Commander-ness" cannot be copied or overwritten by continuous effects, and does not change with control of the card."
This is pulled straight from mtgcommander.net. Hope this helped.

if a commander is sent to the graveyard and they let it go there, can that take it back at any time and put it back in the commander zone or only if it is exiled (or something like it{i can think of quite few stange ones})

Only if it would be sent to another zone that isn't the hand or library.

Case in point, Guest: If Player A allows his commander to get imprinted on Mimic Vat , and Player B seizes the opportunity to destroy the vat, Player A cannot normally say "Oh, well I move my commander to the CZ now."...no, at that point, the commander is gone from the game for good( normally ...and there are ways to keep that from even being the case).
