I agree with sulfuricmage. People are forgetting that this isn't Premium Deck: Red Deck Wins. If people aren't going to buy it because it's not a ready made, Standard constructed, uber deck, then that just means there will be more for the new players and those who haven't been around long enough to have a play set of Jackal pups.

PS: remove the Tom and add in Tattermunge Maniac as the "updated" Jackal Pup. Would be silly and fun and wrong, but also kind of right.

In spite of their superficial similarities, Greater and Lesser Werewolf play quite differently. Lesser Werewolf has a kind of "first first strike" combined with proto-wither, while Greater Werewolf has a unique combination of wither and rampage.

There is lots of that. I'm not going to argue the contents of the deck. Buy it or don't. I will be because I have friends who are just getting into magic and this will be a great way to should off an archtype. WoTC promises nothing with a title.

This is a problem I've had with a few of their special releases. They give it some awesomely flavorful name, but in the spirit of making a balanced deck or due to a lack of cards fitting the theme, about half of it just doesn't fit the theme. When I clicked the link and they showed the Jackal Pup , I immediately said to myself, "Why would they make new art for that? How is that fire or lightning?"

I admit I wish they had kept a little closer to the theme of fire and lightning (and included a few foil magma jets), but I don't think it's a bad deck. It's got a nice collection of foils that can be used in a variety of decks- I can use some of it to make a burn deck look cooler, and some of the others to pimp out a red EDH (at least, I hope that's why they included the Hammer)

"Just in time for halloween" - wah tefuh?
My New Phyrexia Writing CreditsMy M12 Writing CreditsAs far as the benefit of the rest of Magic is concerned, gold cards in Legends were executed perfectly. They got all the excitement a designer could hope out of a splashy new mechanic without using up any of the valuable design space. Truly amazing. --Aaron Forsythe's Random Card Comment on Kei Takahashi

I, um, may have neglected to edit that out when I copied the text from the previous Sketches Arcana.
Or maybe we're having another Halloween this weekend. Which world do you want to live in?

Personally I would love it if Halloween were observed again this weekend, so I could correct for my previous error of blowing off my favorite holiday because I was tired and/or lazy. But I doubt your authority extends as far as getting Minnesotans to reup their observances of the other week for my benefit. *wink*
