So with all of scars out now havea good idea of what is possible in the new set.
Some ideas off the top og my head is:
1) Elves Combo with the new "Genesis Wave" and using Emblem of the Warmind or Sarkhan Vol and cast X for 4 or more and swing with a army of elves before you can get DoJ. Also possible of adding in some eldrazi and the eldrazi lands and doing that type of combo as well. Regal force is also nice.
2) Revilark deck with the new PW and be a more heavy Blue deck using mulldrift and all the other EtB cards. As well as Flickerwisp to make some form of combo.
3) Faes will be faes
4) Junk since it has some of the best cards atm
5) RDW, boros, and other fast agro decks
6) Necrotic Ooze.deck prob green/black
sure there are some more these are just ones off the top of my head.

Would be fun to try something with Mimic Vat and elementals, especially Shriekmaw and Mulldrifter.

Walker of the Grove  on vat would be kinda funny. 5 evoke for a 7/7 that leaves behind a 4/4 every eot for 3 mana activation on vat seems annoying to play thru.

Mimic Vat is less good in Extended than in type 2, because people aren't able to play pulse and o-ring in the MD like they can in extended. It's still a decent card, but will all the removal hanging around for it, it's less than amazing. Heck even Quasali pridemage is MD.

while this is true, i don't know if i'd completely write off the idea entirely. this especially if the deck itself had disruption in it like countermagic and thoughtseize.

I didn't write it off, I said it was still a decent card :P
The Venser-Lark deck seems to be gaining a lot of momentum on the internet at the mo, since the deck can actually play and abuse finks where it couldn't before.

Seems like Pyromancer wouldn't be to bad of a idea in new extended or at least till people make newer deck ideas. As it has enough burn for most creature based decks and counters to stop PWs, also Pyromancer + Manamorphose can mean a really fast kill and easy counters. As well for the fact that you don't need to run the new 3 mana Draw/proliferate card simple because i would rather have a always good card then one that is only sometimes useful.

Do you guys know about the GW deck featuring P. Titan, KotR, Windbrisk Heights, and Mosswort Bridge?
I played against it today with Faeries, and the deck seems pretty good.
It was something like (though I'm not sure the exact quantities)
4 Birds
4 Hierarch
4 Nest Invader
4 Cobra
4 P Titan
4 KotR
X Iona
X Baneslayer
4 Summoning Trap
