I wish they'd do a comic like this every week. It would give Magic a better background story to go along the sets without having to rely on novels.

It's true that the dialogue is a bit simplistic at times and the quality of the artwork varies, but it's a great idea to move the backdrop of the game along.

New comic is up.  Art is more excellent than ever, writing distinctly less than compelling IMO - it's a bridge between things happening and other things happening, so it needed art more than writing.

I agree with both of the two previous posts.   This week's comic (part 2) was okay and would really be fine if we got a comic like this every week, but, given that we get about three of these per set, they really need to find a way to fit more action/plot into each one (or make them longer).  This week's comic mostly just confused me -- what directed Elspeth and Koth to Dominaria?  With the connection to the defeat of Phyrexia it seems that it was more than mere chance.  What is going on with that cave and with the magic candle wax?

I felt the same way. I enjoyed it but there are some holes - I wish longer comics in order to read more details. I´m also glad to see that Venser is gonna play a role alongside Elspeth and Koth but...

...will him focus on the "quest for Karn" plot or help the PW-Boros-couple fight Phyrexians? Have to wait ´till march.

I also find having to scroll the page annoying.  Perhaps I'm not appreciating the art properly?

There's no way Venser is working inside that ship for long periods, with those giant shoulder guards on.

The problem with kidnapping a planeswalker is - how do you keep Venser on Mirrodin once you get there?

Every fan of Venser out there got really sad after seeing this:

How to autocard and use decklist format  ---> Show
For autocarding, write [c][/c] with the name of the card inside it.

[c]Island[/c] = Island

For linking a card to Gatherer without writting the name of said card for readers, use the autocard brackets together with and equal sign and right the name of the real card. Then put the message you want inside the tags, like you would do with autocarding. Like this:

[c=Curse of the Cabal]Captain Never-resolves[/c] = Captain Never-resolves

For using the decklist format, follow this:
[deck]
4* Terramorphic Expanse
4* Evolving Wilds
...
[/deck]

It equals:

4 x Terramorphic Expanse
4 x Evolving Wilds
...

I like storm crow because I really like crows in real life, as an animal, and the card isn't terribly stupid, but packs a good deal of nostalgia and also a chunck of the game's history. So it's perhaps one of the cards I have most affection to, but not because "lol storm crow is bad hurr hurr durr".

Oh, it's a brilliant plan.  You see, Bolas was travelling through shadowmoor, causing trouble, when he saw a Wickerbough Elder with its stylin' dead scarecrow hat.  Now, Bolas being Bolas took the awesome hat and he put it on his head, but even with all his titanic powers of magic he couldn't make it fit.  He grabbed some more scarecrows, but then a little kithkin girl asked if he was trying to build a toupee.  "BY ALL THE POWERS IN THE MULTIVERSE!" he roared, "I WILL HAVE A HAT WORTHY OF MY GLORY." and so he went through his Dark Lore of Doom (tm) looking for something he could make into a hat that would look as stylish on him as a scarecrow does on a treefolk.  He thought about the Phyrexians, but they were covered in goopy oil that would make his nonexistant hair greasy.  He Tried out angels for a while but they didn't sit quite right.  Then, he looked under "e" (because in the Elder Draconic alphabet, "e" for Eldrazi is right next to "h" for Hat) in his Dark Lore of Doom and saw depictions of the Eldrazi, and all their forms.
"THIS SHALL BE MY HAT!" he declared, poking a picture of Emrakul, "AND WITH IT I WILL USHER IN A NEW AGE OF DARKNESS -- ER, I MEAN A NEW AGE OF FASHION!"

And so Nicol Bolas masterminded the release of the Eldrazi.

LOL, I see they're staying true to the Archetypical Blue-Mage-Who-Takes-Too-Long-To-Think thing they started with the Jace-Garruk encounter...

And Rafiq kills Malfegor? Awesome.

Put him in the card set for this block... he won't want to leave.

If that's not quite enough, he could play with the little Myr... he hasn't really had a chance to play with non-threatening artifice like they have on Mirrodin... They question isn't how to get him to stay... the question is how do you take him away from all the new toys without tapping over a few Mountians to get rid of them.
