Yes.  I'm not speaking hypothetically or theoretically here.  I've used Chaos Orb many times.

Also note that Chaos Orb gets around shroud/protection/etc, can't be misdirected, is colorless and can therefore go in any deck, etc.

When you play Chaos Orb, do your opponents not play with their cards further apart? It's an unbeatable anti-Chaos Orb strategy.

IMO, it's against the spirit of the rules to alter the playing field to counter Chaos Orb. The game really needs a designated battlematt.

Chaos Orb you can also rip into little pieces and sprinkle on the other person's side and just get rid of everything.

Contract from Below was a card that was never legal in sanctioned tournaments, while Chaos Orb was. I'm only dealing with cards that are or were played in non-ante sanctioned tournaments. Ante is a casual format. I know they used to have some ante tournaments, but from my understanding, Ante is like EDH or Unhinged cards: It's supposed to be casual, whether they have tournaments or not. Get what I'm saying?

And the reason why Time Vault was low on the list is because it doesn't work well on it's own. It needs a supportive card ( Voltaic Key , Tezzeret the Seeker ) to do anything. The three things that make a magic card powerful, IMO, are: 1. versatility, 2. raw power, and 3. The ability to work without another card backing it up. While Time Vault is extremely powerful, it is only powerful with the aforementioned cards, and not only that, it can't just be thrown into any deck. Granted, Disciple of the Vault is a similar issue, but there are more cards that break it than there are cards that break time vault, and Time Vault doesn't multiply if you get 2 or more copies.

Thank you for the feedback regardless.

By that logic most of the cards on the list are useless.  Lotus is useless if you don't have some card to spend the mana on.  Any mox is useless you happen to get it while you are playing a land, otherwise might as well of had another land in the deck instead of it.

Time Vault can be put into any deck with the key, but Time Walk needs a blue deck to use it.

Awesome argument dude. I totally agree with you now.

Seriously, though, Chaos Orb is amazing. You practice with it enough and it is a lethal weapon.

As for my logic, maybe I should've worded it better. Instead of "another card backing it up," it should say, "a specific card backing it up." So, Black Lotus needs another card, but it can be virtually ANY nonland card that costs more than one mana. That explain my reasoning to you?

The highest card that is ONLY good as part of a combo on the list is Flash. That's a two-card, turn 0 win combo, and it only made it in the top 20-30.

So you also want to say that you are also basing this off of playing it on turn one?  Because when the game is almost over the key / time vault is what I would be praying for over the lotus or any mox.
