The latest deck idea kicking around in my head. I'm about 3-4 weeks off purchasing the cards for this deck, so there's plenty of time to alter this. The general idea - take a standard Enchantress deck, fill it full of Control auras and Greater Auramancy . I take your dude, you can't piff it, and I draw cards. Oh, and Luminarch Ascension as an alternate finisher. Apart from the Enchantresses, Luminarchs, Mystic Gates, Elixir and Palliation Accord, this is based entirely on what I currently have available in my cardbase. Deck: UW Enchantress Control4 x * Mesa Enchantress 3 x * Luminarch Ascension 4 x * Control Magic 1 x * Treachery 2 x * Confiscate 1 x * Steal Artifact 1 x * Steal Enchantment 2 x * Legacy's Allure 4 x * Oblivion Ring 2 x * Gossamer Chains 2 x * Greater Auramancy 2 x * Propaganda 1 x * Archmage Ascension 1 x * Replenish 1 x * Elixir of Immortality 1 x * Energy Field 2 x * Palliation Accord 1 x * Aegis of Honor 2 x * Aura of Silence 1 x * Calciform Pools 1 x * Coastal Tower 11 x * Plains 10 x * Island Display Deck Statistics

Might I suggest Drift of Phantasms to transmute for your Enchantress or even particular enchantments you might want? Palliation Accord is insane in multiplayer. You have one in your list but go grab some more and I don't mean now, I mean right now. Calciform Pools don't cost an arm and a leg to get and they're super helpful. Hindering Light always seems useful and especially in a list like this. Random suggestion to think about: Playing in Bant's colors to get Verduran Enchantress and other Bant goodies and go to town!

Enlightened Tutor or Idyllic Tutor ? Copy Enchantment , Enchantment Alteration , or Crown of the Ages ; the latter two only if you take a more "stealing creatures with enchantments" route. Cheers!

Ah, great to know! I went searching for cards to throw in here, saw the Accord and thought "That looks like it could be bats in multiplayer... maybe I'll get a singleton and see if it really is". If it's definitely the bizness, I definitely need more than a singleton - Accord plus Luminarch Ascension has the potential to produce a lot of angels.

I do have the Tutors - they're all currently serving in other decks. But I can probably swap some of them in at a pinch. Same with Copy Enchantment , which is currently copying Megrim s and Forced Fruition s ( ). But I can probably spare one or two of those also, much as they're fun to transmute for in their current deck. And like you, I pondered Enchantment Alteration and Crown of the Ages (as well as Aura Finesse ), but I suspect I want to be moving between any type of permanent, and not limiting myself.

The insane part of me wants to keep the creature base solely to the Enchantresses and angels. This could well be bananas. But Drift of Phantasms is certainly worth a thought if I move away from this. Especially if I start throwing in Idyllic Tutor s and Copy Enchantment s - all of which it can transmute for. I would switch to Bant colours, but believe it or not, I've already got a Enchantress build running, containing all the Verdurans and Enchantress's Presence s. It throws Armadillo Cloak s and Ancestral Mask s on things and wins fast - a completely different build to this one. Hence my interest in building a control version.

Nimbus Maze is cheaper than Mystic Gate if you want a few more land that will ensure you will have both colors early out

Bumping this deck, as the pieces have been ordered, and it should be here in a fortnight. Could only get three Luminarchs, so will replace the fourth slot with an Energy Field I have sitting around. Also had to behave myself and skip the Mystic Gate s - will probably run 1x Calciform Pools and 1x Coastal Tower . Decklist updated!

Why use Coastal Tower when you can run Sejiri Refuge ? I also want to go back to that recommendation of Drift of Phantasms. If you had a reliable way to search for your Enchantress then you could setup Archmage Ascension consistently. That would be an interesting direction to take. Enduring Ideal is something to think about... I luv the list so far. Great stuff Bl00m. Can I call you Bl00m?

Umm... cause I don't have enough Refuges? I know, I know... I seriously got within about ten seconds of winning a playset of Refuges on Auction-Site-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named last week, too...

Yeah, this is really my chief concern with this deck.... is it going to draw out fast enough, or do I need some tutoring here? It's probably the first thing to change, depending on how the deck's first run goes. While Drift isn't going to fetch everything in the deck, it's going to be able to fetch Enchantress, 'Ganda , O-Ring and a couple of others, which is most things I'd want.
Enduring Ideal is something to think about...
Oh, do not tempt me.... Hive Mind will be in here before you know it!

'Course you can - I do answer to a lot of things, really. "Bl00m", "Cadaverous", "Hey you", "Get over here".... marriage mellows you out like that.

Well Bl00m, all I can say is, best of luck and bump with info after your first playtest with it. I'm really curious how well this does.

Hokay, a couple more changes before I threw it together for its first build. Only three Mesa Enchantress es too, which is a bit of a concern, but the deck seems to acquit itself fairly well anyway - it's got so much control onboard that it can probably cope even without the card advantage of Enchantress #4, by the looks. Also only a singleton Legacy's Allure in the collection, and not even a free Coastal Tower . So the final build was: -1 Mesa Enchantress , Coastal Tower , Legacy's Allure +1 Ghostly Prison , Seal of Removal , Island My wife ran it against my Beast deck in a one-on-one playtest, and took me to pieces. Turn 2: Luminarch Ascension Turn 3: O-Ring on my Survival of the Fittest Turn 4: Propaganda Those three turns alone pretty much set the stage. From there, she just sat back, drew the deck out, stole a few Beasts, generated a metric buttload of angels, and beheaded me when she felt like it. It's scheduled for its first free-for-all tomorrow night. If it does something like that against multiple decks... I think I've created a monster... Obviously, I'll looking at getting a fourth Luminarch and Enchantress for this deck. No doubt it'll benefit from that. And we'll see how much we need the defense of Drift of Phantasms . Let's saddle it up!
