Harsh reality: Cardboard doesn't have gender.

I am confused about the reprinted Fork (Reverberate). Quoting the most recent reprint policy:
Reserved cards will never be printed again in a functionally identical form. A card is considered functionally identical to another card if it has the same card type, subtypes, abilities, mana cost, power, and toughness.
Does not compute??
Edit: To clarify even more, Fork is on the reserved list, a policy that was recently tightened by WotC in that reserved cards will no longer be reprinted as functional copies. Twincast was a functional copy of the reserved card Fork.

EDIT: Maatn, a forked Doom Blade can hit a White Knight , but a reverberated one cannot.
@Katastrophe: I see...it's a functional reprint of twincast. Elegant and effective.
Now lets hope more cards from the reserved list get this treatment.

The card clearly depicts a female character. One usually refers to the either the card itself (using "it") or the character on it (using an appropriate gendered pronoun). By using a gendered pronoun, the author made it clear that he was refering to the character, but he chose the wrong pronoun.

Twincast is not a functional copy of fork. Even if it were, weaseling around the Reprint Policy via a color-change was a major operating theory of Planar Chaos.
But anyway... Fork:
Copy target instant or sorcery spell, except that the copy is red. You may choose new targets for the copy. Reverberate:Copy target instant or sorcery spell. You may choose new targets for the copy.
