A while back, while I was still just a non-posting lurker on YMtC, I used to watch a thread that I thought was really cool, and I'm hoping to recreate it, if people are interested.
The rules are simple. I'll start things off with a criteria for a card. The first person makes a card to fit that criteria, and then leaves another criteria for the next person. From then on, each poster does three things:
1st: Rate the card on the previous post. I think it was on a 0-10 scale, but that probably doesn't matter, so long as you rate the card in a meaningful way.
2nd: Create a card fitting the criteria left for you in the previous post.
3rd: Leave a criteria for the next person.
[EDIT] In the event that two people post at the same time (therefore responding to the same criteria because neither knew about the other one) feel free to choose which of their criterion you would like to submit a card for. Rate both cards ahead of you if you'd like, but just one would be acceptable, too.
Alright, let's see if this goes anywhere. I'll start with one that might be somewhat tricky.
CRITERIA: Make a card that in some way communicates a sense of gender.

At the beginning of your upkeep, choose one – Gender Bender gets +1/-1 and gains first strike until end of turn; or Gender Bender gets -1/+1 and gains lifelink until end of turn.
Criteria: Make a card that depicts a goblin demigod. Interpret this in any way you choose.
Think of how Neo couldn't beat the robots, but they kept him around anyways to defeat Agent Smith. Sure, the robots might not like having a Neo running rampant because instead of playing their favorite 4 drop fatty robot, they have to play a bunch of one mana Matrixs to contain him, but at least Neo keeps Agent Smith from reanimating an Iona on turn two.
I really enjoy imagining this from Kevin's perspective. Because in Kevin's world, Rosewater actually reads everything he types. Mark is sitting there right now, reading this, and thinking "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled. . ." Or some such. He chuckles low, then clicks on "The Best Of KEVINSET" and says "Yes, this'll do just fine. A busty lady with banding who deals direct damage to Zones!? Why this will be the star of my next set, and no one will ever believe you Kevin." Then he closes his Macbook, so his servant may move it out of the way, while another servant puts a Fetal Richard Garfield Clone lathered in Steak Sauce in front of him. Then Mark Feasts.
I mean, In KevinWorld, Mark is reading the very words I'm typing as well. Heck, in KevinWorld maybe I am Mark.

Upon reading this, I've found myself completely unable to operate in the world. I tried to decide what to eat for breakfast, and pondered the vast consequences of my choice. How do I balance my dietary needs against my desire to eat good-tasting food? Should I factor in how long it takes to prepare? Cereal is ready in moments, but bacon takes longer to cook.
Then there is the impact on other industries. Do people in the cereal industry deserve to be employed more than people in the bacon industry? Which industry should I support? I don't even have the data regarding HOW MUCH the cereal industry benefits from me eating a bowl of cereal, or how much the bacon industry benefits from me eating a side of bacon. How can I compare two qualities I can't even quantify?
And let's not forget the milk on the cereal. In addition to determining whether or not milk is healthy for me, how much that benefits the milk industry, and how much the people in the milk industry deserve my support, we have to factor in the fact that cows are put under brutal conditions in order to collect thier milk. Of course, the same goes for the pigs, and then they get killed. Of course, I really like bacon. So I need to come up with a scale that compares the value of cow happiness to pig happiness to my happiness. What trade-offs am I willing to make here? Does the fact that the pig gets put out of its misery count as a plus or a minus? Isn't bacon bad for me anyway?
Deciding what to eat for breakfast (or any meal) is impossible. Help me!
Anyway, you'd be surprised about Time Stop. When I first saw that card as a relatively new player I didn't see its full potential until I read the reminder text. Is it that unintuitive, though? Mine I mean. What is possibility? Is it possible for me to type these words with my tusks? No, because I don't have tusks. Although I am now tempted to go buy some - obviously not from poachers or whatever - and use them as typing apparatus. I could be the best secretary ever. "What's your words per minute sir?" "Well, only six, but I use these tusks to type them." "You're hired!" That was the interview. And is anyone else disappointed that "apparati" is not the plural form of apparatus? I just could strangle a dictionary, because "apparatuses" is a real word. I guess it sounds pretty cool. I'll call them my Apparatusks.
Overall Design-31/40-It’s a great card, but it’s a little weak in the flavor department. It works great mechanically and it’s a great card, but it needs some work to make it whole.
Mechanics-25/25-Great mechanics. I love shapeshifters!
Flavor-12/15-A little weak. Assuming I have it right, why do men get first strike and women get lifelink?
Grammar-15/15-Great work!
Personal Favor-4/5-I love shapeshifters!
Rallah, Squee's Mother :3mana: Legendary Creature-Goblin Matron (R) At the beginning of your upkeep, put a legendary 1/1 red Goblin creature token named "Squee, Goblin Nabod" onto the battlefield. ~ is indestructible. Rallah brought Squee into world and Rallah take him out! 1/1
I, Niklor, in the event of a situation where I am placed at L-1, in other words 1 vote away from being lynched, will bring the hammer vote down upon myself unless it is a known Lylo situation by either announcement or general consensus. Note, if the general consensus is that it's Lylo on days when it clearly isn't, I will ignore them. Please respect the self-hammer by not hammering Niklor in non-Lylo scenarios.

Rallah, Squee's Mother gets a 6/10. While it's humorous and flavorful, it's not even close to being playable (the token doesn't even have haste) and it doesn't really register as a demigod to me. Stench Elemental Creature – Elemental 3/3
Stench Elemental can't be blocked except by artifact creatures. Other creatures get -1/-1.
An embodiment of an odor so vile that drains the life from others, even the lowliest skeleton is loathe to brush with it.
Criteria: Design an Aura that enchants instants in a graveyard. :P

Talruum Wayfinder 2GG Creature - Minotaur Druid When Talruum Wayfinder enters the battlefield you may search your library for a land card and put it into play. 1/3 "If only I could hurt him without feeling guilty." - Tahngarth, Talruum Hero
7/10 - definitely fits the criterion, but it's a bit bland. it's a green minotaur, but, except for the name and typeline, there's nothing paerticulary minotaur-y about it. Could be any kind of druid like that.
Velshat Hive-Mother Creature - Insect Horror Whenever ~ deals damage to a creature, put a -1/-1 counter on that creature. Whenever a creature with a -1/-1 counter is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, put a 1/1 green Insect creature token onto the battlefield for each -1/-1 counter on that creature. 3/3
First ability is nice, it can kill creatures with 4 toughness. The second ability synergises with the first and also isn't overpowered. It's a great design, but something about it bugs me, dunno what 9/10
Selesnya Huntmaster | Creature - Elf Archer Shroud :symtap:: Selesnya’s Sniper deals damage equal to its power to target attacking or blocking creature. The first things taught to new hunters are patience, patience and patience. The prey will show up eventually. 1/3
Criteria: Create a card about modern warfare (not the game) that fits into magic
Criteria: Create a creature that has a UNIQUE tribal effect (read: not just +1/+1 or giving keywords) for a creature type that has never been made tribal.
I love that we're getting some people invovled, and I very much want to see this continue! So I don't want this to sound negative, but rather a nice, friendly reminder. Please try to remember to rate the card in front of you, as well. After all, YMtC is about challenging ourselves (and each other) in the hope of getting better, and feedback is helpful in that.
