i all know is that if this meta becomes somehow dominated by the eldrazi and the annihilator mechanic, imma be pissed.

I hope standard becomes altered greatly. From the cards rumored so far I'm excited. I'm ready for change. I love new mechanics and if they do level up right that will be yet another consideration when playing magic. Walls continue to come while crazy creatures are coming around.

You're right. I forgot the wording on O-ring. Didn't realize it's a permanent before it targets Emrakul. Still gives it better board presence than any other fatty, and is second only to proggy in terms of self-survivability.
Is it because O-Ring targets as a permanent, not a spell? If that's true, just have one EMrakul main, one Progenitus sideboarded or vise-versa depending on your meta. Also, this is, what, 18 out of the 248 possible? would not be surprised to see a card saying,"All Eldrazi have shroud" or someting. Apparently Wizards needs to set up the next dominatior of standard before the rotation, seeing as how they've done that for a while now.

I was at my friends house when this happened. He's married and his wife was an excellent baker. She had baked a homemade apple pie the night before.
I was hungry, and my friend convinced me to try those low carb monster drinks. Before this day, I had never triend energy drinks before.
Boy was I in for a treat.
When I tried that first monster, I really enjoyed the flavor, but the taste that it left in my mouth wasn't so good. What was my solution? Drink another!
before I could finish drinking that 2nd monster, I felt it already kicking in(these drinks were not very far apart, we're talking minutes here) my friend decided that it was a good idea to whip out that fresh pie his wife made the night before. I didn't know what to do, since I felt incredibly invigorated, and at the same time, freaked out by the rush I was feeling, but I was also hungry, and my friend have me an entire plate with a fork and said "help yourself." He extended his saucer to me, and I cut him a piece of the pie and handed it to him, then I looked at the pie, noticed that the pie was in an aluminum holder, and dumped the entire pie onto my plate and started eating it with 2 forks. I don't know where I found that other fork, it probably came from my friend. Anyhow, his wife wasn't happy, and I was already in magical christmas land. 2 days later, I was in my friends bed and I slept for 14 hours.
His wife outlawed my from having any of her baked goods for a while(which sucked because I could just show up at there house, steal some sweets, and leave) and said I couldn't have any energy drinks at her house, unless under close watch.
My friend, on the other hand, had to take me out to a steak dinner, because apparently I won a bet where I climbed a tree and didn't die.

don't think the vamp assassin will impact standard, since he's 5 mana to get active. that's a big dump for an effect that's not always relevant.
The way I read the spoiler, I interpreted it as 3 mana to get active. I guess we'll have to wait until the set comes out to see whether the leveled creatures start at level 1 or level 0.
I get the feeling that all of them will be bombs in limited though...

They start at zero, there is at least one card that gets a bonus (power/toughness change) when it reaches level one

and on the same account, this is going to be a..... a...... a limited format so weird i can't even think of a good adjective to describe it.
Try "mana intensive."
I'm not sure how I'm going to feel playing with some of these cards, but I guess you never know till you try.
The giant creatures, I guess, I can live with in Limited. But the whole leveling up deal seems like it would be clunky and awkward. Awkward as in walking in on your mom in the shower, or vice versa.
lol, could you imagine if the set didn't really have other important things going on with the cards like normal creatures and spells? and these "put eldrazi token" cards that accel colorless mana were the only other real cards for the set from a limited aspect? lol, rampant growth is a first pick card. decks are running 29 lands, 5 creatures and accel. no need for removal spells because the eldrazi do it themselves.
This seems what it's turning out to be. I was shocked to see a "regular" creature card over in FSS. But there is Naturalize, which is a fairly normal card.

Instant speed, low mana investment, must-remove threat after 5 mana investment. The levelers shown so far don't even begin to be threatening until the final level, which is a sorcery-speed mana sink in a meta where basilisk collar is borderline-unplayable due to the tempo loss.

So you spend a while building up to play an eldrazi, and then blightning strips them from your hand. It's the same reason why Jund beats Warp world. It doesn't seem like the whole eldrazi thing is going to take off unless they print soemthign really busted. Why pay 15 mana for a gamebreaking spell, when four mana gets you BBE?
Oh, and realms uncharted is all kinds of broken, and will porbably be the best card in the set.
