Is it me, or does this card become the perfect sideboard tech against any mill deck?  Doesn't this completely wreck that archetype?

If you can't actually play it it'll be a dead draw, so I wouldn't say it's an auto-include for all decks, but those which especially fear mill can certainly use it.  Like many others, i suspect, I originally assumed that last clause was just the standard DSC/Progenitus bit, but instead - yow.

A note to those who are planning on buying 4x Eye of Ugin, though:  keep in mind that it doesn't produce mana, and is legendary.  Plunking down Urzatron followed by turn-4 Eye of Ugin still leaves you 1 mana short of throwing Kozilek into play.  Multiple Eyes only work with Mirror Gallery, and I suspect that low-cc Eldrazi will be few (though I'll be disappointed if there isn't at least one 2-drop in the bunch who can play Ornithopter with an Eye out).

I think I look forward to building decks that have a lot of "disposable" permanents specifically to thwart Annihilator.  Although for what it's worth, unless you give Kozilek haste, he's not going to get a chance to annihilate much of anything very often.

PS, Bojuka Bog and Walking Atlas are tech against the reanimation clause.  This is hilarious.

As far as the benefit of the rest of Magic is concerned, gold cards in Legends were executed perfectly. They got all the excitement a designer could hope out of a splashy new mechanic without using up any of the valuable design space. Truly amazing.

Funny story:
InQuest Magazine (I think it was InQuest) had an oversized Chaos Orb which I totally rooked someone into allowing into a (non-sanctioned) game.
I had a proxy card that was a Mountain with "Chaos Orb" written on it. When I played it, my opponent cried foul:

Him: "WTF? a Proxy? no-one said anything about Proxies. Do you even own an actual Chaos Orb?"
Me: "Yes, but I thought it would be better to use a Proxy."
Him: "No way. If you're going to put a Chaos Orb in your deck you have to use your actual Chaos Orb."
Me: "*Sigh*. Okay."

I pulled out this huge Chaos Orb and placed it on the table. He tried to cry foul again but everyone else said he insisted I use my actual Chaos Orb and that was my actual Chaos Orb. I used it, flipped it and wiped most of his board.

Unsurprisingly, that only worked once and only because everyone present thought it was hilarious.

Hi guys!  So, I'm a sort of returning player to Magic.  I say sort of because as a child I had two main TCG's I liked.  Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon.  Some of my friends branched off in to Magic, and I bought two pre-made decks just to kind of fit in.  Like I said, Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon were what I really knew how to play.  I have a extensive knowledge of deck building in those two TCG's.  However, as far as Magic is concerned, I only ever used those two pre made decks.  I know how the game is played, and I know general things, but now I want to get in the game for real.  I want to begin playing it as a regular.  My question is, are all cards ever released from the time of the inception of this game until present day fair game in a deck?  Or are there special rules?  Are some cards forbidden or restricted?  Thanks guys, and I will gladly accept ANY help lol.

That's what RPJesus tends to do. That's why I don't think he's a real person, but some Magic Card Archive Server sort of machine, that is programmed to react to other posters' comments with obscure cards that do in fact exist, but somehow missed by even the most experienced Magic players.

And then come up with strange combos with said cards. All of that is impossible for a normal human to do given the amount of time he does it and how often he does it.

He/It got me with Light of Sanction , which prompted me to go to RQ&A to try and find if it was even possible to do combat damage to a creature I control (in light that Mark of Asylum exists).

This is what I play Magic for. For a set that looks like it will literally shake up all the metagames. I can see every format in the game being able to use Elrazi cards. I personally already have visions of windmilling them into play in my Cloudpost deck. They are large enough and have rediculous enough abilities to satisfy Timmies everywhere, and relevent enough triggered abilities to appeal to Johnnies as well. I am so glad to see the beginnings of a set that I'm actually looking foreward to. Hasn't happened since Lorwyn.

Keep up the good work, Wizards. Just please, please, please don't make Eldrazi horribly unbalanced. Make them good enough to effect the game, but please, no more faeries and no more jund. We had to wait until two sets in to the new block for jund to die off, and even longer for Faeries. Let's have at least nine or ten solid viable decks after RoE hits. PLEASE.

@Sam_rem: I totally assumed it was a shuffle into library. It does completely kill mill. That is hilarious.
I would have killed, literally ended someones life, to NOT have Arrogant Bloodlord riding a giant ant...

but where DID the other fork come from?

Lord_Zed:
I was at my friends house when this happened. He's married and his wife was an excellent baker. She had baked a homemade apple pie the night before.

I was hungry, and my friend convinced me to try those low carb monster drinks. Before this day, I had never triend energy drinks before.

Boy was I in for a treat.

When I tried that first monster, I really enjoyed the flavor, but the taste that it left in my mouth wasn't so good. What was my solution? Drink another!

before I could finish drinking that 2nd monster, I felt it already kicking in(these drinks were not very far apart, we're talking minutes here) my friend decided that it was a good idea to whip out that fresh pie his wife made the night before. I didn't know what to do, since I felt incredibly invigorated, and at the same time, freaked out by the rush I was feeling, but I was also hungry, and my friend have me an entire plate with a fork and said "help yourself." He extended his saucer to me, and I cut him a piece of the pie and handed it to him, then I looked at the pie, noticed that the pie was in an aluminum holder, and dumped the entire pie onto my plate and started eating it with 2 forks. I don't know where I found that other fork, it probably came from my friend. Anyhow, his wife wasn't happy, and I was already in magical christmas land. 2 days later, I was in my friends bed and I slept for 14 hours.

His wife outlawed my from having any of her baked goods for a while(which sucked because I could just show up at there house, steal some sweets, and leave) and said I couldn't have any energy drinks at her house, unless under close watch.

My friend, on the other hand, had to take me out to a steak dinner, because apparently I won a bet where I climbed a tree and didn't die.

That Feldon's Cane thing that it does is what makes it so good for Oath, besides being a nasty card. Oath mills themselves like crazy and always has to run Gaea's Blessing to shuffle itself back up. But now you can put two of this guy + Iona as the only three creatures in your deck. If one eats a Swords, oh well. You can also do things like "In response to your Swords, Edict myself" or "In response to your Path, sacrifice Kosilek to my... and gain..." Or discard him to Frantic Search .

He can be chump blocked by 1/1 tokens. And you won't draw the 4 cards if you Oath/Piper him into play. And he doesn't have shroud like Inkwell or Progenitus. However:
EDIT: Oath = fail?

Tell me i'm wrong, but..

Eye of ugin doesn't produce mana, but makes eldrazi cost 2 less.. So you get (1) lopped off the price.

Wouldn't it be easier to just running everflowing chalice? Khalni Gems? any other mana ramp.
