Nice to see that this isn't dead. I've PM's Theiz, hopefully we can get our game done tomorrow.
It almost died because I missed bugferds concession and I had to do a massive end of quarter project, but I, Greg_the_Egg, pledged to YOU, my fair tournament mates, that I would never let any tourney of mine die. EVER. NOT ON MY WATCH!!
Umm, so I don't really frequent these forums any more, but I do blog for my website Greatplay.net.

I lose 0-2 to probably the most boring match of my life.. g1 we went back and forth dropping nothing but lands for like 10 turns cause nethier were drawing any gas with no cards in hand then he started to draw gas... and I was still drawing lands. g2 He had a decent start and I continued with my streak of drawing no gas, probably could have played differently with the few spells I had but with drawing so many lands it didn't matter in the long run.
and my list
// Lands 4 [DIS] Blood Crypt 3 [ZEN] Mountain (1) 4 [RAV] Sacred Foundry 2 [GP] Godless Shrine 1 [RAV] Boros Garrison 1 [DIS] Rakdos Carnarium 4 [ZEN] Plains (3) 3 [ZEN] Swamp (1)
// Creatures 4 [GP] Giant Solifuge 4 [RAV] Dark Confidant 3 [AP] Spectral Lynx 3 [AP] Goblin Legionnaire 4 [9E] Savannah Lions
// Spells 4 [RAV] Lightning Helix 2 [ARB] Terminate 4 [AP] Vindicate 4 [AP] Gerrard's Verdict 2 [DIS] Demonfire 4 [RAV] Char
// Sideboard SB: 4 [PS] Flametongue Kavu SB: 4 [GP] Mortify SB: 4 [9E] Persecute SB: 3 [9E] Stone Rain
I was expecting bwg rock and decks that really tried to push there mana bases where this deck can just punish them with its disruption suite. That and I just didn't care and wanted to play with bob.
But you were deceived.

Now it's time for Round Eight FINALS! Glux (0) vs. LegendofLink (1) This is how it will work. First Glux and LegendofLink will play a best of three match. Then, if Glux wins, he is the winner of this Alternate Standard tournament. If Glux loses, both people get the opportunity of picking new decks, and you play another best of three match. If a second match is required, whoever wins the second match is the winner of the Alternate Standard Tournament.

link won.
match report: g1 I was gaining 2 life a turn and he had 2 cards in hand to my 7 when his game dropped. g2 his metagamed deck beat mine. g3, I drew 1 land in 8 cards and lost.
match 2: g1 my deck did what it does and I won with +20. g2 he drew 3 Vindicates, no shot there. g3, I drew 1 land in 6 cards and lost.
Kind of annoying my deck completely crapped out on me in the deciding game both times, especially considering my hands were full of 4 mana gas, but that **** happens.
congrats to link.

I win 2-1 first match, and 2-1 second match. I managed to completely mana screw Glux almost every game with various land destruction, even drawing triple vindicates one game. Frankly, I was pretty lucky. GGs everyone. Here's my lists: The one I used for most of the tournament: Deck 1
Show
// Lands GP Godless Shrine 4 ALA Swamp 6 ZEN Plains 6 AP Caves of Koilos 4 // Creatures RAV Dark Confidant 1B 4 GP Orzhov Pontiff 1WB 2 AP Putrid Warrior WB 4 AP Spectral Lynx 1W 4 GP Plagued Rusalka B 4 9E Savannah Lions W 4 // Spells GP Castigate WB 2 RAV Last Gasp 1B 4 9E Cruel Edict 1B 4 AP Gerrard's Verdict WB 4 9E Glorious Anthem 1WW 4 // Sideboard GP Castigate WB 2 GP Mortify 1WB 3 GP Ghost Council of Orzhova WWBB 3 9E Defense Grid 2 3 AP Vindicate 1WB 4
And the list I used during my first match with Glux (I just wanted something completely out of left field with this one): Deck 2
Show
// Lands RAV Mountain 6 9E Island 5 GP Nivix, Aerie of the Firemind 2 GP Izzet Boilerworks 2 GP Steam Vents 4 AP Shivan Reef 4 // Creatures 9E Magnivore 2RR 4 // Spells 9E Demolish 3R 4 9E Tidings 3UU 2 9E Stone Rain 2R 4 RAV Tunnel Vision 5U 1 9E Boomerang UU 4 9E Pyroclasm 1R 3 9E Mana Leak 1U 4 RAV Compulsive Research 2U 4 9E Sleight of Hand U 4 9E Wildfire 4RR 3 // Sideboard 9E Volcanic Hammer 1R 4 GP Steamcore Weird 3U 2 GP Repeal XU 2 RAV Remand 1U 3 9E Flashfires 3R 4
