I made this as a sort of targeted mass polymorph effect but I'm not sure if this is the best way to do it or even if it's rules legal.
Choose any number of permanents in any number of graveyards. Exile target permanent that shares a controller and a card type for each of the chosen permanents then put the chosen permanents onto the battlefield under their owners’ control.
Does this look alright to everyone?

I think that's how it would be worded. Changes I made: Permanent cards: Cards are cards when they are not on the battlefield. For each of the chosen cards...: That way you can sigularize the ability, even though it's a mass effect. If you do: I feel like without this, there would be a way to get out tons of your stuff without exiling the appropriate targets. I don't know exactly if this is necessary, but it feels like it should be.

Is there a better way of wording this concept?
With one ability you:
Draw a card. Discard a card. Gain 1 life OR Draw a card. Lose 1 life. (not in that order) What I have so far:
Discard a card then draw a card. If you discarded a card this way, gain 1 life, otherwise lose 1 life.

Draw a card. You may discard a card. If you do, gain 1 life. Otherwise, lose 1 life.
If you want it to be optional.
If you want the draw only option to only be allowed when you have an empty hand, you've got it.

I wanted it to be optional... to an extent. I started with Draw 1, discard 1, gain 1. But that felt too dull for me (hehe lacking elegance is my weakness). Then I wanted it to be you will draw a card, but you could either discard a card to gain a life, or you could keep it and lose one life. But that felt too methodical/logical for the colors I was going, so I changed it to the discard first. but then the ability became more messy than I had anticipated. And then I found twenty dollars.
In short. Thanks, but as long as it's correct I prefer the first ability, because it works with the colors better.

Draw a card. Choose one -- Discard a card and gain 1 life; or lose 1 life.

This one is complicated, so I might end up taking it to the Rules Theory forum, but I figured I'd try here first. Basically, I want an activated ability that lets a creature fight another creature like it has double strike. First version , : ~ deals damage equal to its power to target creature. Then, ~ fights that creature. (They only fight if both are still on the battlefield.)This one doesn't work as intended, because the creature would never actually die in between the "first strike" and the fighting. Second version , : ~ deals damage equal to its power to target creature.Whenever ~ deals noncombat damage to another creature, ~ fights that creature. (They only fight if both are still on the battlefield.)I thought this one worked the way I wanted it to, until I realized that the triggered ability triggers itself. This is especially problematic if the creature somehow ended up fighting something like a Darksteel Myr . Third Version , : ~ fights target creature. (They only fight if both are still on the battlefield.)Whenever you activate an ability of ~'s that targets a creature, ~ deals damage equal to its power to that creature. This is where I'm at currently. It's ugly, but it works (I think). I took aspects from Ceaseless Searblades and Reparations and sort of combined them together. So now I'll ask, can anyone come up with anything better?

I don't have much of a problem with the last version, and that ability wouldn't feel as tacked on as it's now if you had your creature share that ability with other creatures, for example creatures with the same creature type.. "Whenever you activate an ability of a behemoth (?) that targets another creature, that behemoth (?) deals damage equal to its power to that creature."
