Land (24) -
4 Verdant Catacombs
4 Marsh Flats
4 Dark Depths
4 Terramorphic Expanse
8 Swamps

Spells -
4 Vampire Hexmage
4 Bloodghast
4 Vampire Nighthawk
3 Ob Nixilis, the Fallen

4 Expedition Map
4 Duress
4 Disfigure
3 Grim Discovery
3 Tendrils of Corruption
3 Mind Sludge

Lots of fetch-style land for Bloodghast and Ob to thrive on. Expedition Map is a great tutor for Dark Depths. Duress and Disfigure are staple early on to weed out meddling cards. Grim discovery saves the game by nabbing a downed Hexmage and a fetch or potentially Dark Depths itself (Ruinblaster!). Tendrils and Mind Sludge are for keeping the pressure before the combo hits, which really shouldn't take that long with Expedition Map and Grim Discovery.

I repeat,

This thread is for BG decks that feature the DD/Hexmage Combo.

Mono-Black Depths is not an established deck.

That kinda looks like standard MBC with the depths combo thrown in. Kinda.
So, essentially, is this deck like Eva Green or the Rock with the depths combo as a shorter path to victory? Or am I mistaken?

Depends how you build it, really.  It's not a firmly established archetype.  Personally, though, I'd build it like you said.

EDIT: Just by virtue of being BG, it'll look something like Eva Green or The Rock, really.  You pretty much have to play stuff like Goyf and Thoughtseize.

Well, that's true. The good cards just kind of flow in.
Btw, not on topic, but i'm starting to like the forums again.
To get back on topic, does Eternal Witness deserve a spot in the deck? Recur dead Dark Depths ? After all, this is Wasteland.format.

I'm starting to think this deck is best in a straight BG loam shell with Entomb.

4 Wasteland
4 Verdant Catacombs
1 Windswept Heath
1 Marsh Flats
1 Bloodstained Mire
3 Tranquil Thicket
3 Barren Moor
3 Bayou
2 Forest
2 Swamp
1 Dark Depths
1 Volrath's Stronghold

4 Tarmogoyf
3 Eternal Witness
3 Tombstalker
1 Vampire Hexmage
1 Shriekmaw

4 Mox Diamond
4 Thoughtseize
4 Life from the Loam
4 Hymn to Tourach
3 Entomb
3 Maelstrom Pulse

I think Crop Rotation would really help that list. Living Wish also helps grab the pieces, even if one gets exiled. When I tested the combo in a Pox shell, I found The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale to have nice synergy with Marit Lage and help remove potential blockers/problem creatures. Could be worth consideration if it's in your budget. Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and Dark Ritual allow for a potential turn 2 win, if you need more acceleration than Mox Diamond.

Oh, forgot, the list should have Hymn to Tourach (over Smother), and a single Shriekmaw.

Tabernacle might be OK, but you have to cut a spell for it.

4 Ritual and 4 Diamond could lead to some stone-cold terrible hands.

This is the current build of what I'm tinkering with.  Basically Dark Depths with Natural Order - Progenitus as a back up plan.  I'm thinking it definately needs Living Wish maindeck.  It'd allow to have a Hexmage and a Dark Depths in the sideboard that can be tutored out.  Unfortunately I only have Death Wish es right now, so I'm debating trying those out, and possibly trying to get a 3rd Natural Order to have in the sideboard.

Creatures - 18
4 Elvish Spirit Guide
4 Lotus Cobra
4 Nimble Mongoose
2 Progenitus
4 Vampire Hexmage

Spells - 17
4 Dark Ritual
4 Duress
3 Grim Discovery
2 Natural Order
4 Sign in Blood

Land - 25
4 Dark Depths
4 Dryad Arbor
3 Forest
4 Overgrown Tomb
4 Swamp
2 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Verdant Catacombs

Sideboard - 15
2 Damnation
4 Inquisition of Kozilek
2 Krosan Grip
4 Pithing Needle
3 Ratchet Bomb
