Sarkhan the Mad is awesome and works very well.  Feed a Thrinax to it and you get a Dragon and 3 Saprolings.  Then the next turn a 1/1 Saproling becomes a 5/5 Dragon.  Or if your opponents life is low enough, you can use the -4 and dome your opponent in the head for 5.

To beat Mythic, board in removal/burn.  Kill the mana dorks, or, hope to have a Terminate when the Conscription hits the board.

So I just need a thrinax and a fresh Sarkhan to pull this off? Cool story bro.

In fact Sarkhan is too weak. Garruk is much better.

An army of squirrels is still an army.

It's really not a story, bro.  Just check the winning deck lists.

Just need a Thrinax?  Dude, a Thrinax could almost always be on your board.  You either cast it or BBE into it.  The chances are very high.  Sarkhan is one of you 5cc cards, its a finisher.  If you don't land it, you are probably beating face with Leeches, Thrinaxes, and BBEs.  If you do land it, Sarkhan has great synergy with all three, especially the Thrinax.  Plus, Sarkhan can break the mirror.

Sarkhan is far from weak.  Draw ability, make a dragon, or dome your opponent- thats pretty versatile.

But you don't have to believe me, again just check how many recent lists run Sarkhan and win as compared to Garruk.

Just because a list wins, it doesn't mean it's optimal. If 90% of the Jund decks play Sarkhan over Garruk, it's pretty obvious which of these 2 has a higher chance to show up in the Top8.

Garruk has greater synergy with Grave Titan and SGC and moderate synergy with Thrinax.
Sarkhan is very synergistic with Thrinax and Broodmate Dragon.

Looks like different approaches to Jund.

An army of squirrels is still an army.

Sarkhan has great synergy with SGC as well.  Gives you even more reach.  Really, it works with everything.  You tap and swing then make it an untapped dragon.

Not many lists play Broodmate anymore.  With all the land destruction going on, its tough to get to 6 consistently.

Gideon is not impressed by your triple white, incredibly difficult-to-manlipulate jank card.

Well, we're going to have to wait until after States to see what decks come out at the top. Who knows? This could survive. [/sarcasm]
