Simple enough. Mana burn is no longer an issue. If you don't know what it is, don't worry; if you do, it doesn't apply any more as of July 11.
This thread is for describing the rules changes. It's not for discussing your opinion of these changes.

Goodbye. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for this rules summary - I have some quick questions:

1)Have the new rules gone 'live' yet? If not, when?
2)Does the 'comprehensive rules' dated July 11th reflect all of these changes or is it still ongoing like Oracle?
3)Where can I find more info on Layers and how these new rules have changed them?

Thanks! Hope this was the proper place to post.

1. They went live when M10 came out.

2. The latest rulebook reflects the changes.

3. The FAQ at the top of this forum is always good; there is also the current rulebook itself.

just a few questions
1: since life link doesnt stack but theyre reverting the text on older ones this means that say i have a card that has " whenever this creature deals combat dmg you gain that much life" would that still stack with a life link enchant?

2:after declaring blockers will the attacking creature still be considered blocked if i sacrifice my blocker to an effect b4 dmg

3: and finaly if i block a creature with first strike can i still cast something b4 dmg is done?

For asking new questions, you should make a new thread.

Yes, cards with that sort of triggered ability will be cumulative with cards with similar abilities.

2:after declaring blockers will the attacking creature still be considered blocked if i sacrifice my blocker to an effect b4 dmg

Yes. Once a creature becomes blocked it remains blocked until the end of combat (or until it is removed from combat).

3: and finaly if i block a creature with first strike can i still cast something b4 dmg is done?

Yes. Players get priority in the Declare blockers step after blocks are declared. First strike does not in any way alter this.

So theres no more damage on the stack with combat. Is there still a damage stack for non combat? Lets say I have a Cemetery reaper out 2/2. Someone uses volcanic fallout. Can I let the damage resolve, hense going on the stack, then use the Cemetery Reaper's ability to put a 2/2 zombie into play? Obviously if I use it the ability before damage them my 2/2 also gets zapped with Volcanic Fallout.

Noncombat damage has never gone on the stack. As soon as the damage-dealing spell resolves, the damage is dealt and things die (if they're lethally damaged) before anyone can do anything.

Lol, that means ive been kind of playing things wrong till now. I always thought Non Combat Damage was just like Combat damage(before the rule changes). It had a Damage Stack, giving you an a chance to do something before it hits the graveyard. Oops

In the end it doesn't really matter in most cases. You can just respond to the spell instead.

… and then, the squirrels came.
