with all your removal, i think the shriekmaws are overkill, and you could pack a couple more fatties instead.

Well, it's tutorable spot removal...but I suppose you're right.

Why do all the lists only run 2 double dragons? Also thoughts on Makeshift Mannequin?

i don't get the shortage of dragons either. I'm running 3 broodmates and 3 cloudthreshers.

problem with mannequin is you've gotta have a fatty in the yard for it to work. so, it just sits in your hand until you've played a fatty AND it has died. I rather just play another fatty instead. It's not bad with finks, but without more cheaper cards to get back early/mid game (perhaps fulminator mage), the mannequin sits in your hand for a long time.

edit: here's my list at the moment (i don't own colossus, and it's working fine nonetheless)

18 creatures

4 elvish visionary
4 kitchen finks
4 sprouting thrinax
3 broodmate dragon
3 cloudthresher

19 other spells

4 rampant growth
3 gift of the gargantuan
4 jund charm
2 blightning
2 bone splinters
4 sarkhan vol

23 lands

advice appreciated, and i need help with a SB. I'm still unsure about the blightning as I haven't drawn them yet. But they're solid CA.

Needs Garruk and Violent Ultimatum. Garruk is a machine in this deck. And Violent wins games.

I saw the Flores decklist a while ago, and decided to make one of my own. It ended up with a bunch of Primal commands, Profane commands, Siege-gang's, Broodmates and Ultimatium and Birds of Paradise, which after the second game I realised died to my own sweepers! =[

After looking through this thread, this is my revised version.

Creatures x 15

4x Kitchen Finks
3x Broodmate Dragon
2x Cloudthresher
4x Civic Wayfinder
1x Hellkite Overlord

Spells x 23

3x Garruk Wildspeaker
3x Violent Ultimatium
4x Fertile Ground
2x Profane Command
3x Firespout
2x Primal Command
4x Rampant Growth
2x Eyeblight's Ending

Lands x 23

3x Treetop Village
4x Savage Land
2x Karpulsan Forest
2x Llanowar Wastes
6x Forest
3x Swamp
3x Mountain

Sideboard:
2x Naturalize
3x Jund Charm
2x Pithing Needle
4x Gutteral Response
2x Primal Command
2x Mind Shatter

A couple of points I want to make:
- I don't want Chameleon Colossus in my list because I don't like him much, and I feel this deck should do very well without him.

- I like Profane Command SO much better in this deck instead of Resounding thunder ! I am just finding it so much more usefull during testing!

- Jund Charm hits the sideboard because I feel MD Cloudthresher and Firespout is enough, Jund Charm is in the Sideboard to combat 'Lark & friends, and for extra *sweeeeep* against Kithkin/Fae decks.

- I have barely any way of dealing with an opponent's Chameleon Colossus. Eyeblight's ending, Profane, both black? That is the only reason Resounding Thunder got ANY thought in my build. Best I can do is Primal-Bounce to the hand and race in the damage!

- Last point! I have no card-draw, but I really hate Elvish Visionary ! He seems slow, and nets me one chump block and ONE card. Just doesn't seem enough to me!

Testing begins in 2 days, so I'll let you know how I go. It will be tested against an Exalted-bant aggro-control deck, a Red-deck wins (without Demi-god) and possible a beefy Treefolk deck. Advice, criticism, conversation and discussion is all thanked, and welcome!

Edit: Just a quick after-thought: I will test Gift of Gargantuan as my "Card Draw". It can be great when you need to dig for a fat creature, but bad if you have to put a Violent Ultimatium or a much-needed Fertile ground on the bottom of your Library!

yes, but if you hit a rampant growth or primal command, you can end up shuffling your library, so they're not lost forever.

how is it that Flores got 9th in NY states without either? I tend to agree with you about Garruk, not so much about the ultimatum.

Back in one of his previous articles where he was discussing cards that might make tournament showing, he said that his teammate thinks Violent Ultimatum is one of the best cards in the set, and showed a draft Jund Ramp list that included it.

It's really not even about giving niche cards to black.

It should be about giving black cards to Niche.

Primal Command only does noncreature permanents, I believe. Also, here is my pensive list at the moment, which Weaboo and I cooked up after much thought and deliberation. Any comments or suggestions?
