2 Finest Hour + 1 BoP = 12 damage

What the hell

It's actually just 6 damage. The untap portion doesn't stack.

Stoic Angel with 2 Finest Hours would do 21 though.

I think sideboarding Mark of Asylum is a great idea or some other defense against sweeps. There were too many times (two or three) where my work toward a big turn three would end up in the gutter due to Pyroclasm . Dauntless Escort is great but he slows down the aggro part of the deck.

Take for example our perfect turns 1-2, with us going first.

T1: Land, Hierarch
T2: Land, Hierarch, Shorecrasher

Their turn 2: Pyroclasm.

It's as effective, if not more so at setting us back than a Wrath or Fallout.

Any ideas on how to combat it?

Play Rhox/Dauntless/Finks instead of Shorecrasher in those match ups. They have to use more cards to remove them, and will be around longer. Still Blightning/RDW is a tough match up anyway. I usually try for a opening BFT.

Btw, nice new banner. Is this a move for an updated OP?

If you have Dauntless or Finks in your hand, play them T2 before you play Shorecrasher because playing them after won't trigger him and Dauntless, more than Finks, will force your opponent to burn a spot removal up front. Unless they've got a Path to Exile of course.

If you drop a T2 Dauntless, he'll get a swing or two in for 3 points of damage most likely, and he can help keep your more vulnerable mimic and infiltrators safe.

The new banner looks great. Thanks, Neberus.

The reason I wasn't really updating the main page was because the deck wasn't really doing anything in the competitive scene. Now that it's shown up in at least three top 8's of recent PTQ/Regionals (and now that we have a sweet new banner), I really have no excuse not to update it. I'll get right to it over the next couple days.

I figured as much. But that's awesome. The deck is good. I just needs a little more work to get it to great.

Gideon is not impressed by your triple white, incredibly difficult-to-manlipulate jank card.

Thats a ton of spot removal! I love snakeform because it activates mimic for a surprise block + draw or attack activator. Im debating a 3-3 path/snake split. Only hesitation is that spot removal isnt the best vs tokens...But I love cantrips.

Hey all. I'm kind of a newb here, but help me out. There are two cards I play in my bant deck that haven't been mentioned at all here. When I mention them, many of you experienced magic players will snigger, but I just want to hear it from someone with experience. Why are the following cards not played in this deck?

1. Oblivion Ring (not played because bant aggro isn't control? Expensive? Doesn't work against instants? On the other hand, it seems like a nice answer-all for your opponent's bombs)

2. battlegrace angel (very expensive I know, but has anyone tried to play her? Coupled with rafiq and a hierarch, it could get out on turn 4 and be pretty sick)
and besides that, she's relatively attractive, like at the very least a pretty girl like her should be asked on a date.
----------------------------
also what is people's consensus on snakeform?

1. Solid SB choice. Overall, Path to Exile is better mid-late game creature removal, while Ring doesn't add to your opponents tempo and can deal with Planeswalkers, which is a good thing. If you can't get a set of Paths, use these guys.

2. I love the card. The art, the flavor, the ability. The only reason I dropped her was a) two white is hard for most of the decks builds (that being G/U/w or G/u/w) and b) Another 5cc card is too hard on the curve. Though, I must agree the gal should get out more. Glad I grabbed a play mat with her on it.

Oh, and IMHO Bant > Snakeform.
