I'm not seeing any "super-secret tech" against Q'n'T, even though it most assuredly exists.....

I'm not seeing any "super-secret tech" against Q'n'T, even though it most assuredly exists..... That's because Bant Control here is looking more and more LIKE QnT. Curious. So how does QnT beat QnT?

I'm testing Guile+additional permission. If you're running Bant-Control-That-Looks-Like-Toast, you should just play Toast and get the Ultimatum and stuff on your team.
It's really not even about giving niche cards to black.
It should be about giving black cards to Niche.

we're more or less on equal footing with QnT creature-wise. if you can lay down a planeswalker like elspeth, the toast player would be hard put to deal with him. hindering light can counter shriekmaw or bounce effects from cryptic command, and faerie macabre can remove mannequin targets. i think the toast match-up is pretty even with draw quality mattering more than usual, just like the mirror matches of solarflare and dralnu du louvre in the past.

Hindering cannot counter Shriek: it's a cip effect of a permanent, not an effect of a spell.

Hindering cannot counter Shriek: it's a cip effect of a permanent, not an effect of a spell. true. i guess i overlooked that part. what else can we SB against control variants though? there's sure to be a rise in QnT, solarflare and bant control. prolly some other control decks out there as well.

I just rode Elspeth to a win last night. 4/4 Flying Soldier each turn put him down, especially with enough counter back-up. Guile also won me a game, which was handy. Any deck that runs at sorcery-speed is hard pressed to deal with MrIndigo's list. I basically am running that, with few changes (no Mutavaults). A 28/28 flying Chameleon Colossus won me another game. That is hilarious. Bant Charm has proven absurd. Its counter ability won me many games.
