Expecially with its little friends Reveillark and Ranger of Eos . They have little parties together, and red isn't invited.

I certainly never advocated Deathmark over Infest. The only convincing reasons I've see to splash are Shambo (who is in fact that good) and Infest. Blossom is underwhelming in an overtly beatdown deck; same for Seize. Mind Shatter? I hope my opponent isn't alive long enough for that card to matter. Same with Scepter. I guess Nyxathid is okay in the mirror. Maw and Terror are good. Outlander is so underwhelming in almost every match. I've seen people MD this guy and that's just crazy talk. As I said, it's worth the splash if you play against a lot of Brew and WW. But, remember, ETorment is great against a lot that the two decks can do and Magma SPray substantially reduces the efficacy of Lark. Still, I'll take speed, power and consistency any day.

Ok, have fun against Tender. What do you guys think of Nyxalith in the mirror, or against any type of deck that likes emptying its hand?

What do you guys think of Nyxalith in the mirror, or against any type of deck that likes emptying its hand? nyxaTHID is probably good in the mirror or against aggro players dumb enough to overcommit to the board. And, again, Torment SB and Spray MD make any WW/Brew MUs totally winable. You have to play around Tender but, for the love of Jaya Ballard, stop assuming the match is an auto-loss; those two decks are very tough to beat for us but RDW destroys a lot of the meta and has about a 60% win against Fae which, contrary to rumors otherwise, is not in fact dead. But, as I've said, if Brew (a term I use for all RW Lark/Eos concoctions) gets big, we should consider a black splash but not until then. (Btw, it's entirely likely that RW becomes king of the hill but I'd rather burn that bridge when I get to it and, anyway, even RB isn't great against it.)

I really do like Volcanic Fallout, but I do realize it is only more useful against Fae, which is already our best matchup. I'm going to test out Infest instead, see how that works out for me.
On another note, which idea is better: tailoring my main deck towards WW/Boat Brew or having that in my side and main decking more aggro/explosive? In other words: Goblin Outlander + Infest vs. Hellspark Elemental + I dunno, Blightning (the pair not maindecked would of course be sided)? I don't know if Boat Brew actually is as prevalent as I think - in the past 2 FNMs 3 out of 6 matches were Boat Brew for me, but my friend who goes with me faced a total of 0.
Does anyone see a use for graveyard hate against Boat Brew/mirror?

Does anyone see a use for graveyard hate against Boat Brew/mirror? graveyard hate versus Brew/Mirror I was reading Adrian Sullivan's article today and he was talking about his extended Ponza deck. He cited the fact that, in extended, you simply can't be prepared ot beat every deck. This can be applied to standad as well. So, the question is: do I waste SB slots on decks I have a horrible MU against or reserve them for decks I have a reasonable chance to beat? I can't speak for Sullivan but my opinion is that you can do both--sometimes, and now is "sometimes." I've been championing Everlasting Torment since forever (like, back when people were trying to board Dragon's Claw). 3-4 ET's in the board can shut down KoMeadowgrain, Ajani V, Ajani G, the apparently scary BFT, etc. These alone will help you level the playing field. Plus, add Spray MD and maybe Fallout SB (which is good against SP tokens but also Fae and Elves) and your red deck, which is already good against much of the meta, gets a decent shot at decks with that rapscallion 1/1. To answer your question, though, I'd look for cards that trump certain MUs and cards that mitigate difficulties posed by tough MUs and pay especially close attention to cards that are good in multiple MUs. Warhammer, for example, is great against other aggressive decks (though I'd only run 1-2) and the aforementioned ET is so insane that it's not even funny. The point of this convullution polution is this: don't tailor your SB to one MU, especially one that you think you'll lose anyway. Also, Outlander is overrated. No, really, he's crap.

The reason the SB is taylored this way is because of the fact that this deck has AMAZING matchups against every single DTB that isn't mainly white- and that's a fact.
If your sb can make that match winable then there is no reason to go in a different direction.
