Now I made a topic a while ago listing all of my budget decks and thought "Hey, why not post them all on here again", but updated!
And when I say cheap, I mean less than £30 for all my decks, and thats considering expensive UK prices and includes shipping, so would be even cheaper if your not from the UK!
I will be using Starcitygames for most of my prices unless I can get cheaper on ebay, which is usually for only a rare or two and is included in the total cost. Total cost also includes shipping to the UK.
New decks will be added all the time, and im looking for any and all feedback or ideas you may have on my decks, so Keep Tuned!
This deck aims to discard Evershrike into graveyard as soon as possible, then get him out with a cheap aura using his ability, which in turn makes him even stronger. ________________________________________
A discard control deck based around good ole Grix, nothing overly special (except of course the opponents face as you make them discard there combo pieces of course, muhahaha) ________________________________________
Budget version of UC Counterburn deck type, controling the board while gaining card advantage via burning swan's (Archetype thread here) ________________________________________
This deck can either use Scarecrone to get Composite Golum back and create a load of mana to get Colossus into play, or can create an infinate mana combo via thornbite (Can only be beaten if you Burn the Rope *wink wink*) ________________________________________
This deck creates tons of goats using good ole Springjack Shepard to overwhelm opponents, or sac them for a load of life to the Pasture and make a large Sigil of Distinction. Then you can ram them to death, quite liturally! (Goats, ram, get it?) ________________________________________
Ah, theres nothing like turning you yourself, the player, into a dragon who liturally kills the opponent with his fire breathing skills! This deck uses Form of the Dragon and cards which can help it to kill the opponent. ________________________________________
One of my fave cards for artwork was Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore, and this deck uses the eye creature type, as well as sliver type to make a sliver eye themed deck. Creepy methinks! ________________________________________
This deck uses the combo of using Thousand-Year Elixir to bounce Ovinomancer back into your hand without returning any lands, and giving you a constant creature removal method. Well, sheep transformer shall we say...... ________________________________________
This is a deck which uses the card Endless Whisper to kill your opponents creatures to gain control of them, as well as killing your own which gives opponents a disadvantage. I use mostly in a fun multiplayer setting ________________________________________
This deck puts pandemonium into play as soon as possible, and uses storm to create lots of goblins and then sacing then swinging them.
If they are destroyed, I will then sac them to gargadon which will then also give 9 damage to opponent via pandemonium. Norin the Wary also gives pandemonium a continious 2 damage to opponent. ________________________________________
This is a deck which uses replicate to create tons of 4/4 giants, and then use Angels grace next turn to prevent you losing the game. ________________________________________
This deck gives you and your opponent a massive amount of cards, and then when your opponent has loads of cards in hand, or has drawn a load, you use spells which do more damage for how many cards they have in hand. ________________________________________
This deck uses all the benefits of blue such as card draws, countering and controling, with a wizard theme to it, to win the game. ________________________________________
This deck uses mana gaining abilities as well as using the Archdruid to gain opponents lands and creating giant wurms via Baru and Wurmcalling ________________________________________
This is a deck which uses Lich which is one of my favorite cards of all time, and Magus of the Mirror to beat the opponent/s. It also has ways of still using Lich to draw cards and stay alive, even if Magus of the Mirror isnt in the picture. ________________________________________
Thanks for your words, I really apprechiate it and im glad you like them! ^^ Ive just added some standard legal decks, and will be making/posting some more in the next day or so (Put T2 decks top of the list, then Ext, Legacy, etc...)
Currently making a few T2 legal decks aimed purely at fun, so ill keep you posted!
Hey man, that's a really nice budget deck collection. Indeed the giant deck is really clever. That's why I already ordered the cards but my own version (sry had to^^ always wanted a UR deck lol) I might post my own version later when I get the cards :P
Thanks for the comments, and glad to hear you've bought that giant one, its one of them decks which really allows you to see your opponents shocked face everytime you play it hehe
Added some more decks btw, 1 Standard and 2 Extended (one with goats O.o)
Congratulations for your decks, the seem to be very cool and funny to play, there are some great ideas there indeed. But why not adding Reverse the Sands in the Lich's deck? Because it was already too expensive? Maybe it would be a nice idea to add a couple of these if possible I loved the goats Deck, and the Giant's Deck too.
For linking a card to Gatherer without writting the name of said card for readers, use the autocard brackets together with and equal sign and right the name of the real card. Then put the message you want inside the tags, like you would do with autocarding. Like this:
I like storm crow because I really like crows in real life, as an animal, and the card isn't terribly stupid, but packs a good deal of nostalgia and also a chunck of the game's history. So it's perhaps one of the cards I have most affection to, but not because "lol storm crow is bad hurr hurr durr".
Although I do assume you deliberately refer to them (DCI) as The Grand Imperial Convocation of Evil just for the purposes of making them sound like an ancient and terrible conspiracy.
Now, now. 1994 doesn't quite qualify as "ancient".
Oh, it's a brilliant plan. You see, Bolas was travelling through shadowmoor, causing trouble, when he saw a Wickerbough Elder with its stylin' dead scarecrow hat. Now, Bolas being Bolas took the awesome hat and he put it on his head, but even with all his titanic powers of magic he couldn't make it fit. He grabbed some more scarecrows, but then a little kithkin girl asked if he was trying to build a toupee. "BY ALL THE POWERS IN THE MULTIVERSE!" he roared, "I WILL HAVE A HAT WORTHY OF MY GLORY." and so he went through his Dark Lore of Doom (tm) looking for something he could make into a hat that would look as stylish on him as a scarecrow does on a treefolk. He thought about the Phyrexians, but they were covered in goopy oil that would make his nonexistant hair greasy. He Tried out angels for a while but they didn't sit quite right. Then, he looked under "e" (because in the Elder Draconic alphabet, "e" for Eldrazi is right next to "h" for Hat) in his Dark Lore of Doom and saw depictions of the Eldrazi, and all their forms. "THIS SHALL BE MY HAT!" he declared, poking a picture of Emrakul, "AND WITH IT I WILL USHER IN A NEW AGE OF DARKNESS -- ER, I MEAN A NEW AGE OF FASHION!"
And so Nicol Bolas masterminded the release of the Eldrazi.
The last couple days have been roughly every perverse fetish imaginable, but it only got "creepy" when speculation on Mother of Runes's mob affiliation came up?
I like to think up what I consider clever names for my decks, only later to be laughed at by my wife. It kills me a little on the inside, but thats what marriage is about.
Of course, the best use [of tolaria west ] is transmuting for the real Tolaria.
Absolutely. I used to loose to my buddy's Banding deck for ages, it was then that I found out about Tolaria , and I was finally able win my first game.
Browbeat is a card that is an appropriate deck choice when there's no better idea available. "No better idea available" was pretty much the running theme of Odyssey era.
Modern is like playing a new tournament every time : you build a deck, you win with it, don't bother keeping it. Just build another, its key pieces will get banned.
I always find it helpful when im angry to dress up in an owl costume and rub pennies all over my body in front of a full body mirror next to the window.
Dymecoar:
Playing Magic without Blue is like sleeping without any sheets or blankets. You can do it...but why?
Omega137:
Me: "I love the moment when a control deck stabilizes. It feels so... right." Omega137: "I like the life drop part until you get there, it's the MtG variant of bungee jumping"
Zigeif777:
Just do it like Yu-Gi-Oh or monkeys: throw all the crap you got at them and hope it works or else the by-standers (or opponents) just get dirty and pissed.
Normally it's difficult to pick up on your jokes/sarcasm. But this one's pretty much out there. Good progress. You have moved up to Humanoid. You'll be Human in no time.
I really like your budget Type 2 decks. Can you build a new budget Type 2 deck now that Conflux is out? I need something to use at my local FNM. Thank you.
Changed the name to Bone Splitters since your right it was supposed to be that. In reference to Reverse the Sands I didn't even think about that card hehe, ill have a look through the Lich deck and see if I could squeeze it in since the curve is already pretty high. Thanks for the idea though.
Im still awaiting my Conflux booster box since its shipping from good ole america but ill be making some decks using new Conflux cards within the next week or so most definitely. Watch this space!
