Ballista-- the deck is rather complex so its difficult to see just exactly what you are missing... you may wish to review some of the logs earlier in this thread for insight. it should be noted that that Shifter is VERY powerful in the build and that if you are not utilizing it properly it would definitely effect the decks power.

Why is this thread still open? I agree, why is it still open? All mandorrisem has proven is that one person, through consistent flaming, can be the laughing stock of the competitive boards. This deck is average. Below reanimator even after reading and understanding all 46 pages of bullcrap.
So why don't we cut the bullcrap? Mandy, if you want to live up to the claims of Standard's Strongest, play it at Nationals. After all, if it's that good, I expect to see it in first.
TTFN. See you in Chicago.

The thread is still open because it's about a perfectly legitimate deck posted by someone whose constructed rating ensures his credibility.
The fact that this deck works somehow decently even if it violates all the standards of competitive deckbuilding is certainly interesting, as is Benjaroy's view on certain cards, although I utterly disagree with the 99% of what he's saying.
I think that one of the commonest mistakes among posters is not comprehending that this is not a popularity contest, but a forum about competitive Magic. Yes, Benjaroy's attitude is pleasant as is swallowing a rabid cat; yes, he exhaggerates his deck's strenght and yes, most of his points are moot. Nothing of this warrants a sanction against him or devoids this thread of legitimacy.
I don't think it's very fair or democratic to ask someone to be sanctioned because you can't convince him.

No, I'm actually serious on +4 Squire. At least it will be moar consistent than the rest of your deck, and you can copy it with Shapeshifter to generate damage advantage. Then put in some Bog Hoodlums and you're set.

I don't think it's very fair or democratic to ask someone to be sanctioned because you can't convince him. I'd just like to add something here, I agree with most of what you're saying, I think Mando's way of examining cards looks at their best possible outcomes etc. For example, morphose in this deck is great, but not that great in a lot of other decks, however due to it's success here, he feels the need to push it on everyone.
Either way, if people would stop rising to the bait set out by mando, we could have a bit more of a valuable discussion. It IS a perfectly viable deck, and people slating it completely with squire comments and all sorts, are just making themselves seem a little foolish. Typing is an optional activity

But you're missing the fact that this is the flamiest thread since Omone. Seriously, everyone (and I mean everyone) is insulting everyone else. Here's a typical conversation
SomeDud101: Lol n00b u suck, go die in a fire Benjaroy: U N00b! Ur mother sucks Chimney Imps! OtherDude310: Lulz ur face is wurs than ur deck lololololol Benjaroy: I made love to your sister!
Hence why it should be closed.

Hey Mando, all else aside, have you considered using Willbender or Shaper Parasite for a little more control? I have seen the benders used to great effect by essentially using your opponents spells against themselves and the parasite seems like reusable removal/pump. I think both cards can be abused with the shapeshifter with the right level of experience.

Is there some sort of unknown reason Comrade hasn't been banninated yet? Responding to a mod deleting your posts by well....reposting the same thing typically warrants such a a thing...anyway moving on.......
Cyrus-- actually looking at cards in the best possible light is not the case at all, its more of looking at them in the most probable light. Most people don't agree because they have less experience with the individual cards and thus cannot see just how effective they actually are. This tends to cause people to view these cards as situational, when in fact with testing they would find them to be universal.
Scorpious--Both are situational at best, and weak in general. Bender can occasionally be a nasty suprise, but once its face up its not going to be doing much even with a shifter available to copy it. The main problem with him is that he can only hit spells with single targets, basically relegating him to the RDW matchup at best. Parasite is just slow and unneeded given the level of removal the build already contains. Seer would go in before either of them, even without proper island support, since it is nearly impossible to lose once the Seer/Shifter engine comes online.

And anyways, I'm not afraid of being banned from a childrens' message board. WizO's??? OHNOES!
Anyways, Squire would make your deck better because, after all, Shapeshifter is the best blue creature ever printed, so liek, why not make your Shapeshifters into the best White creature ever printed?
