Wait, are you trying to rip him off or not, because the 1st deal you mentioned was already in your favor? This trade you've got here is moreover a high win.
I was trying to make it more even. You said 5 lands for 2 FoD + 2 Fulm would be in my favour, so I made it 6 for 2 FoD + 2 Fulm. Then I checked motl (only site I know that doesn't overestimate junk, like blackborder does) and I thought wake + oversoul was more valuable than demigod, and I bought him lunch for the vexing =)
Where did my reasoning go wrong? Was it the wake thrasher?
Edit: And I'm giving him 1-4 of most of the good uncommons in the sets, minus kitchen finks (Everything else he's getting), which aren't terribly valuable but at least $0.50-1.00 each? There's like 20 solid ones in the bunch
Edit 2: Sorry if it sounds like I'm arguing with you. I have been out of the game for a long time and am not extremely well tuned to the current market, I'm just trying to find where my calculations went wrong so I can fix it

Wake Thrasher was the new hotness till people started playing with him. And the Demigod is headed right on up because of his winning debut on the tournament scene with Demigod Red.
Lol, and I've been using Blackborder as my price reference. So Motl is better. Cool.
Well, congrats on the trade win If it makes you feel any better for "ripping" him, he got some very playable cards.

Ah, I see. I'll find something else to add to even out the trade. I thought he was valuable or I wouldn't have added him. I'll add in a wilt-leaf liege to start, more later?

Maybe blackborder got better, but last time I was there (a year and a half, I admit) it said 3 relentless rats were the same value as a fetchland... which made me lol. Blackborder, if I'm not mistaken, just looks at what price cards are listed at; MOTL only looks at what price cards are actually sold for.

To conserve your time, I'd suggest using what you've been using to evaluate prices (motl in this case) and figure out a respectable and fair setup between you and your friend yourself without consulting us further.

UNLESS YOU ARE DEALING IN CASH, DO NOT USE ONLINE DEALER PRICES.
They are almost always wrong. Jank rares are priced more because dealers need to make a profit, and high priced rares are priced higher because they know you will pay.
If you must use an online source, use E-Bay. Instead of doing dealer prices, you get the actual market. Just go on, find your card, and average the prices. This is usually the best way. Any card that says $1 with 2hrs left is worth nothing more than filler unless you know otherwise.
@Wake Thrasher: Another good example. Dealers are slow to lower prices. If it sees ANY play or is highly speculated, the dealer will be slow to react.
Ex: Filterlands, Pre or Release card (obv not the promo), and the Lieges to an extent.
EDIT: I realized I may have poorly worded my listing of Wake Thrasher on your $$Cards thread. What I meant by conditional was that people who really needed it would be willing to trade higher for it. I did not mean that it itself was a cash card.
