There's still the [size=1] tag next to Thoughtseize in the spells section.

And how is mournwhelk close to persecute? >__> it's a four mana mind rot... that gets recurred.

Persecute would typically hit around 3-4 cards for one card. Evoke MW, mannequin him back into play next turn...4 cards for your one AND you get a 3/3 beater. That's how. No it isn't persecute, but thank god. Spells that virtually auto-win games shouldn't be playable on turn 4.

(and Wrath effects don't count. Any aggro player worth his salt isn't going to auto-lose to Wrath, just have to play smart).

I agree matchups would be sweet :D. If more analysis is needed ( which I doubt) I can always throw in my next FNM matches (gonna be facing pickles, dstorm and more than likely a few elf builds).

I have a few qualms about matchup analysis inclusion:

1) It's a lot of work for a little gain. I don't have the time to perform the tests over a sample size big enough to be accurate.

2) As new decks come and go, the frequent revision of them is time-consuming.

3) Strategies and matchups at the moment are so diverse that slight variations of builds can mean a big difference, and to exhaustively explain them all is too complex.

Generally speaking, I think it's better to leave strategy discussion remain in the actual thread, so people with queries can direct them relevant to specific builds or metagames.

It's really not even about giving niche cards to black.

It should be about giving black cards to Niche.

How do I own with it.

Does it like cheese and/or handisnacks.

rune snag should be in the spells selection. i dont particularly run them, however it was said in a major (starcity i believe?) article to replace epochrasites with them.

I believe it was tcg where they suggested that. Good call imo, i've done the same thing.

On another note, thoughts on sower of temptation in this deck? Can be sweet with mannequin as well, no?
Then again,i must admit i didn't play a lot yet with mannequin.dec, though things will change^^:D

Can anyone give a quick sketch with the good/bad matchups?
Looks like this deck has some "decent" matchups, but almost never "really good" matchups,or am i mistaken?

Sooo...played last night. Tourney was cancelled so I just sat around and played some guys. Got ROLLED by a goblins deck. Man was it fast, and good. Decided Bottle Gnomes are a must for Sb because I lost 4 games after I had completely wrecked his board...because he topdecked an Incinerate. That's how fast he hit me.

It would be turn 4, I would damnation, then control things well, begin beating him down to 10ish life...Incinerate...game. Most of his gobbos were black, so Maw was useless. Any other suggestions? (BTW, Epoch is far too slow).

It's been tough working the Mournwhelk/Aethersnipe balance. Snipe is sooo good vs aggro (and led to my only 2 wins vs gobbos) but useless against control...and whelk is vice versa. I'm considering removing Augur for 4 of the other two...or just moving Whelk to the SB.

I don't know about blowouts, but I know it does quite poorly against Sonicboom and Faeries. Sonicboom has way too much permission, and Faeries is faster and has enough disruption to get there.

I think it would be pretty good, though not as more than a two-of.

As for good matchups, I don't have a whole lot of experience with the deck, but I can imagine that it would do well against midrange and non-permission control.
