I have a green deck that uses Muraganda Petroglyphs to pummel the heck out of the opposition.

Muraganda Petroglyphs is an enchantment that says, "Creatures with no abilities get +2/+2."

Does that mean that if I put down Grizzly Bears (which is a 2/2 beast) and give it Epic Proportions (which is an enchantment that gives a creature +5/+5 and trample) they lose their +2/+2 from the Petroglyphs, since Epic Proportions is giving the creature an ability?

What about instants?

Thank you!

Epic Proportions is giving the bears an ability, but +5/+5 on its own is not an ability. So Giant Growth for instance would be cumulative with the 'glyphs..

Abilities are commonly Keyworded but always go in the text box, regardless of the source of the effect that generated them (instant, sorcery, ability etc.).

yes, if it gains an ability it will lose the bonus.

Epic Proportions gives it a P/T mod (not an ability) and Trample (an ability)

likewise an instant that gives the creature Flying will remove the bonus
but Giant Growth gives a P/T boost which is not by itself an ability so it will still get the bonus from Petroglyphs.
