One thing you may have overseen (haven't read the enitre post). Any 'Lord' or modifier that would grant creature types +x/+x would screw you royally over.

Imagine what a lord of atlantis would do, the bonus form him is in another layer than mirror entity's. So it would result in the entity and other creatures being 1/1 when activating it for 0.

Just a thought..

The deck plays enough bounce + Wrath of God that getting rid of a lord shouldn't be too big of a problem. Plus, the deck doesn't need the combo to win.

A definite problem, but the deck does have lots of answers. Luckily, most of the modern lords say "other creatures you control", so the only big problems are the rare cycle in 10th. It's not a big deal though. Potentially a big deal in the Sliver matchup ... in which case Mirror Entity becomes MVP by turning your team into Slivers and leeching their power. Actually, he can do that no matter what the lord is, so consider that the back-up plan if you can't find bounce.

Or you just activate Entity for all your mana open and Attack with your Team of unblockable Merfolks/Goblins for the win

just for clarification..

here is my board position

Graveyard:
Merrow (mill dude)
Mirror Entity
Body Double
Venser
Aven Riftwatcher
Bonded Fetch
Riftwing Cloudskate

in hand:
Lark, and Blink

play:

1.evoke lark..
2.lark dies
3.trigger
4. body double and mirror entity come into play
5. body double is lark, mirror entity stacks
6. effect still on stack, body double dies
7. lark trigger
8. body double + venser
9. rinse and repeat

heres the thing.. i dont see how mirror entity lives through this...
when mirror entity puts all creatures at 0/0 it should die with body double...

Mirror Entity does die. That's why you stack its ability one bilion times. It doesn't need to be in play for the ability to work.

Thanks for all the attention people! Wow, it seems like their are a LOT of questions asked here about the combo, and a couple of misconceptions... Okay, here goes:

slimedude99 (regarding 'this deck won't get popular')]I think you're dead wrong. This deck actually reminds me a tiny, tiny bit of Aluren in the eternal formats. It can gain infinite life, it can draw its deck, and it's really, really difficult to mess with.

I know, Reveillark WILL make it to top 8 decks. I was just saying that to keep the heat down in my local tourneys and online. It's fast and very potential. It will be a top contender. We'll just have to fight our way through the hate.

2) Can anyone explain to me the mirror entity combo?

Thanks!`[/quote wrote:

How the combo works

Put entity's ability on the stack infinite times (since there's no infinite in magic besides mox lotus , we'll just use one billion). Let one resolve, reveillark or body double copying it and the entity (and any other creatures you might have) will die. Bring back body double copying reveillark and a creature with a CIP ability. Let the CIP ability trigger, let it resolve, then let the next entity's ability resolve. Both die, both come back, both die, both come back, and the combo of course is the abuse of those CIP abilities. Either draw your deck and find merrow witsniper to mill your opponent, or bounce everything they've got and swing with an army of 2/2's (let all the entity's abilities resolve, bringing back just body double with them until there is one left, get mirror entity back, blink body double if you want, and either way they can never win with 1-2 lands while you beat face with two 10/10's, one of which flies.

The decklist posted is very good as it is, there might be some minor changes. The reason everything's 3-of is because I want full blinks, and support cards like careful consideration and wrath of god . With its immense carddrawing, it should be easy to get all the pieces.

Something from own experience: This deck doesn't die to extirpate or withered wretch . Wretches are easilily disposed of (they're worse than extirpate though), but them casting Extirpate often gives me enough card- and tempo advantage to win it anyways. For instance, while I was comboing out, my opponent at one point responded with double extirpate on my body double and reveillark . I shrugged, and on the back of a mulldrifter , riftwing cloudskate , and venser, shaper savant , I beat for 4-6 every turn while Blinking my venser to bounce his spells. I once played a mono black aggro deck with extirpate , withered wretch and sudden spoiling (!!!) maindeck. It was surprising, but through disrupting my combo and killing reveillark without triggering its leaves play trigger, I still won it thanks to cloudskate, mulldrifter, and blink. Summary: This deck can win without the wrote:

If you are looking for a tutor, Summoner's Pact is still T2 legal. You could either splash green (ok for gg) or risk to combo and win the game the same turn.

I don't think Careful Consideration is needed here.

Sure it let's you discard, but I think it really would be better to have 4-of each combo piece.

Summoner's Pact only get's green creatures.

Otherwise it would be played extensively in a lot of combo decks.
