Ok, here's my attempt at a tournament worthy elf deck: Big Mean Elf MachineLands (21 x ): 13 x *Forest 4 x *Swamp 4 x *Gilt-Leaf Palace Creatures (25 x ): 4 x *Llanowar Elves 4 x *Wolf-Skull Shaman 4 x *Wren's Run Vanquisher 4 x *Imperious Perfect 4 x *Masked Admirers 2 x *Chameleon Colossus 1 x *Wren's Run Packmaster 2 x *Nath of the Gilt-Leaf Other spells (14 x ): 4 x *Nameless Inversion 4 x *Eyeblight's Ending 2 x *Overrun 2 x *Prowess of the Fair 2 x *Squall Line The sideboard is under construction; tips would be appreciated. I intend to replace one Nath with another Packmaster when I get my grubby little hands on one; I may drop him altogether, but for now I like the fact that he dodges almost all black removal on account of being a T4 black elf. The ability is great too, especially against decks (fairies) that like to play stuff on my turn. Inversion is included over Shriekmaw for its instant speed and improved synergy with Wolf-Skull Shaman. The 'maw will probably be sided in (possibly along with Deathmark ) in mirror matches and against various G/X W/X decks. I don't have any Tarmogoyf s or Troll Ascetic s and I'm not likely to get any soon. Treetop Village s are on my shopping list though, along with Llanowar Wastes . I'm itching to get my hands on a Garruk , but I won't pay cash and I fear he may be hard to trade for. Shame. As you see I haven't included any Shadowmoor cards yet; I'm still waiting to see which ones are really playable in this deck. So far I haven't found any obvious auto-includes, but I'm still looking. Comments? Suggestions?

As I wrote above, I'm getting another packmaster; I think two will be just about right. As for Profane Command, I don't have any, and until I have at least 2x Llanowar Wastes , I think the double black casting cost is a bit risky. For now I have Squall Line , which also acts both as a finisher and as mass removal against fliers (grrr fairies).

Is wolf skull shaman any good? i dont really play straight up elfs i play more of a deck similiar to the "elf" decks played in worlds. im considering going all elf tho mayby. i would have to give up goyf and shriekmaw tho and those are both just too broken. obv. lol. but yeh new cards are great from shadowmoor im defintly siding Guttural Response cards amazing. also i didnt see pendlehaven on here as a good mana to use or Urborg which is also very good

@ XSilenceX: Wolf-Skull Shaman good?? He is a 2/2 for two mana. Seems good. In an elf deck his ability to put out another 2/2 is amazing. To answer your question, yes the shaman is great, in an elf build. People however do argue about, not the card it's self, but it's converted mana cost within an elf deck. You have the Vanquisher at two, tarmogoyf is two cc, and so is the Paragon. I suppose that if you where to build an elf deck the decission would be up to you. I run both the Wolf-Skull and the Vanquisher. @Romadeus: First off, put the Prowess into the sideboard along with the squall line (unless your meta is fae heavy). Nath is good but at five you could do alot more with that mana. Replace him with the Boreal Druid. I would maybe add one more Overrrun as well. And I know he's not cheap, but the colossus will win you games, look into him. End of Line
