Ideally, you want to have 2 Greater Gargadon's suspended, a Barren Glory in play, your land and either of Oona's Prowler or Trespasser il-Vec at the end of your opponent's turn.

Discard your hand via the Prowler/Trespasser.
Sac all permanents (except Barren Glory) to one of the Gargadons.
Let the abilities resolve, likely putting the Gargadon into play.
If necessary, sac the Gargadon to the suspended one.
Let your opponent's turn end.
Pray he doesn't have a Disinchant (or the like).

Stack your Suspend triggers on the bottom and your Barren Glory on top (so it resolves first)

do a little celebratory dance for pulling it off.

Wit found in Rules Q&A

RPJesus: "Man, screw the rules, I'll play a game of 2HG Archenemy Planechase Emperor EDH draft yet. Once I figure out the rules for it..."
Chaikov: "Of course, casual Magic may be played any way your Pokemon group agrees on..." and "It's not logic. It's Magic!"
GainsBanding: "I only play online.  The Magic Online shuffler is AWESOME!"
Ikegami: "one might think [adult cats] would make excellent tokens. The issue, though, is that they are very hard to exile. They return to the battlefield more often than an undying creature."
Astarael7: "Does 121.1 imply that players are supposed to wear their poison counters?"
Bimmerbot: "If you move the wrong way and [the poison counters] fall, it's a game rule violation"
Helluminatus: "Just remember, if it looks like a duck, smells like a duck, and quacks like a duck, but the oracle text says creature - Bunny , then by god, it's a bunny."
MadCow21: "Who are you and what have you done with the real Chaikov?"

While this may be true, this is not rules-related. Take this to the Card Strategies & Combos forum.

It is possible, but unlikely, to control only Barren Glory and have a cumulative upkeep requirement: An opponent's Opalescence turning Barren Glory into a creature and an opponent's Mana Chains (or similar) giving it cumulative upkeep.

I doubt that the OP had that particular scenario in mind, but your statement was a bit too absolute.

I'd go so far as to say that scenario is completely pointless for the current discussion. The whole point of mentioning cumulative upkeep was because he wanted to explore the possibility of getting rid of his other permanents after BG triggered, but before it resolved. While your example shows how you could have both BG trigger and have a Cumulative Upkeep, it lacks the "other permanents" aspect.

I'm just a Pigment of your imagination.
