Some pretty amazing white creatures in this deck. Low on removal, but the possibility of cashing in on a huge Hail of Arrows is high with all the mana fixing. Also the combo with Verdant Force and Soul Warden is so good. A turn 3 Serra Angel is possible as well.

Okay, I think that if you're not in Red, you're doing it wrong. But anyway, assuming you are in red, pack 3 pick 1: Blaze vs. Beacon of Destruction. I'm fairly certain Blaze is always correct here, but are there any circumstances where the Beacon might be correct?

EDIT: Ah, I see that the previous posts were actually last week's deck...those did seem like odd cards. Anyways, for this week....
All is forgotten in the stone halls of the dead. These are the rooms of ruin where the spiders spin and the great circuits fall quiet, one by one.

I went with blaze, but maybe between the two looters and the two counseil, beacon could potentially be better... but I doubt it.

Blaze probably is the better pick in pack 3 but the recursing rare was too tempting for me to pass on. I think I hate drafted a little to much. Deck doesn't have good early beats Cloud Elemental or that Red 3/3 for 3 should have been drafted at some point for earlier pressure. I may go back and try drafting the other colors but I think U/R was the way to go.

The Furnace Whelp is the best card in the pack, but is a double-red; I'm leery of committing to red right away, but the Whelp can win games so I take it over the Wayfinder. It's always nice to get rewarded for those picks with immediate reinforcement. P1p3 is tough because I need another color; I've passed at least three good green cards, neither white or black calls out here, but the Drake is reasonable ... and immediate reward in the form of the Puppeteer is nice again.

I like Beacon of Destruction over Blaze. Blazing something for two is a lose, and for equal mana BoD is instant-speed and more damage. If you get to seven+ mana and draw the Blaze, that might be better, but instant-speed and re-usable still looks better to me.

I wondered what people took to pass the Air Elemental and friends ... and then I saw the guy who opened double Shivan Hellkite!
